Any feedback on the WW blades or what's out there that's worth using other than finding some NOS Bosch units? _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

I use them, and have been happy with them. I'm on season 2 with them now, and no signs of cracking or imminent failure. Still look like new.
They are a bit difficult to adjust, and they miss in a few spots, but I suspect that this has more to do with the Safari adapters that I am using.
I would buy them again at $14. |

I guess good blades are hard to find
I know there have been complaints about the WW.
Mine did fray and tear quickly, I don't know of another source though?
I think you have to buy 2 pair for every 1 pair you need.
One blade was fine and the other tore right away. |

I find WW blades to be the best available that are currentley available. I carry 3 different manufacturers blades in stock from 8 to 14 dollars each and WW have easily outlasted the others.
I put NOS SWF blades on my 56 DD panel last year and they have already fallen apart and I've never even used them yet _________________ Stocking distributor of "The Funky Green Panels"

Average rainfall where splitpile lives is 6.25". And it gets very hot and dry.
He leaves stuff outside that he doesn't want to get rained on!
Ronnie, you don't even need wipers.
Since I have a stockpile of SWF blades for my keeper buses, I have not bought the new WW blades. I have no feedback there. The nice SWF blades were like $20 apiece when I bought them, not cheap!
The cheaper no-name (China made? the ones that were $7 or $4) blades are not straight. The way they cut the rubber, or maybe its the way they pinch it into the metal part of the blade. it does not lay flat on the glass.
This is a repro blade available a few years ago, maybe still be available. I'm not sure of manufacturer. Other Than SWF
I prefer SWF blades. I have used NOS ones of various ages, happily. Greg's '55 has the old school three strip blades on it. They work nice. They probabably were not stored in desert heat.
It is important to have good arms with nice springs in them. I find the later arms, like on my 66 kombi, are generally functionally the best. Those are the ones with the pinch bolt, like in the pic below.
It rains about 50" per year where I live, with about 165 days of measurable precipitation.
I picked this used SWF blade up at a swap last year for a buck. Score!:

If I had swf "in stock" i'd use em too! I do have nice wiper arms (nos about 3 years ago) installed but the blades themselves are old and shot. I have the original style wiper arms and not the replacement style you pictured.
My bus seldom see's rain these days but it might in the coming weeks so I 'm just trying to prepare. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

Mine are over ten years strong! They get no wear 'cause the wipers haven't worked since '01.

joe slack welded the end curve on my bus from 67 beetle ones. i now use the beetle type blades that everyone has and they work lots better than original style blades. he used a tig welder to make them up for me. _________________ Admin note: Bill Passed away - July, 2017

I use the WW blades, had them for a few years now no complaints for the most part, although I do rely on Rain-X more than the blades... _________________ 66 Bus

Are SWF Bosch? If not what do Bosch look like? The WW ones are ok. I wish SWF would come back to life. |

I stopped using the original style blades years ago. Here you can still easily find modern style wiper blades in 11 inch, which fit the split bus perfectly. These are meant for old Land Rovers; maybe early Jeeps take something similar? _________________ fig

I use WW arms and blades daily with no complaints. It's a wiper blade...It's not meant to last forever. _________________ I've never met a Bus I didn't like.
