After reading 3 pages in this topic I guess that Rob Is a busy man in vacation. Heres a pic of the 30+ emails that we exchanged for a Syncro purchase that thank God did not/ will not happen. I admire Rob that he has the ability to do the initial sales pic. Font get me wrong I'm not here to throw garbage at him but there a fine line when he specifies "I will be connected on and off to wify" So I never got a response from him and now I don't know what will happen to the $150 CAD that I deposited him so he would received my good will to buy. After seeing the weather in the east and prices of towing the syncro from Canada to California and seeing all this posts I was very very disappointed and decided not to go with the purchase.

Again this is not against the person but for the little details that keep that good reputation going. I hope that Im the last person he does that to. It would be great if he answers his emails. Hope to get that money back and if not I hope that he uses it for something urgent that its not for vacations.

I would consider reading this posts before doing business with Rob. Other than that really cool guy but I would consider this comments as I see that Im not the only one. Would I be the last one? I hope so.

In reply to rogertj's feedback.

He's omitted some very relevant details. Namely that $100USD deposit he made in good faith on an $11900USD purchase. The verbal FaceTime agreement was that he would come view and collect the Syncro in person within a week. He contacted me the following day and requested that I move the Syncro across the border on my dime and time AND that I make a false declaration to US Customs "the VW is coming into the USA for work". Lying to Customs and being caught can be bring about serious penalties. NO Thank You! The fact that he has the GALL to leave me bad feedback following his request speaks very loudly to his character.

What we need on the Website is a feedback section for BUYERS not simply for the Sellers. Buying is a 2 way street.

You are being a Pinochio and you know it Rob.

I was a good guy with you on letting you scam me with my money now you leave no option but to clear your lies (like other buyers have proved you wrong) with the truth and go BIG on reporting you to the appropriate authorities. Good thing we have lots of emails and a financial transaction.

Heres the proof of there were 150 CAD and not 100 USD like Rob says:

Heres a proof of Rob messages that proove that he agreed to cross the Syncro in to the USA for repairs and was going to Mexico to be imported in to Mexico via the Presidential program of "register your vehicle at a low fee" (Decreto de autos irregulares) Yeah I know what you're thinking about our president lol

Roger,

You sir are the only individual who broke their word. $150 is of no consequence to me, it's the principle here. Stick the facts. Stop name calling and tossing around accusations.

You gave a deposit on a Project that was refundable IF you viewed in person and didn't agree to condition presented in photos, videos and our video chat. You did not come to my property. You wasted hours of my time. You agreed to this when we spoke on the video chat. Please tell me why you think I should give your deposit back?

Stealing means to take something without the owner's permission or knowledge and keep it. It can also mean to take something away by force or unjust means

You cancelled a contract and expect full remuneration. I invested hours into this deal. Consider the $150 partial payment of my wasted time.

Happy Holidays Roger.

Are you familiar with the term accountability or culpability? If not, maybe it would be worth investing some time familiarizing yourself with them.

Accountability in my country is when you arrive and get arrested by a lawsuit by stealing someone else's money with electronic proof of the transactions. Hope to have you soon here, I guess there's gonna be one more country you cant travel to. Happy travels Richard Roberts McGill hope to have your mug shot soon

And for anyone that wants to do business with this individual buyer beware he invents contracts in his brains, that's called a mental issue, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HIM he will rip you off!!!

Gratefull that it ended up with 150 Canadian dollars and not with the unexistent post in the samba for a Syncro for 11,900 USD (Post got deleted)

BUYER BEWARE!

Since posting the above reply, I was in touch with Rob (after repeated emails).

He has refused to provide a refund on the deposit I made on his truck. His reason being that I "hurt his bottom line"... I find it hard to believe considering he was using the VW as his daily driver at the time, and it was never even posted on the Samba.

Also, I've had numerous other people who have contacted me asking about Rob, one of whom is also having issues asking for a refund.

Wouldn't deal with Rob if you can avoid it.

It seems that Im not the only one that gets ripped off with a deposit please read the above

If 150 is of no relevance to you then just refund his money.

The only way I was able to recover my money from Rob was by filing a claim with my credit card company.

I have many emails going back and forth then silence after initial payment. It seems his tactic is to wait you out and hope you go away without a refund.

That is exactly right Turbo, he uses your anger of the money that seems impossible to recover against you so that you can get desperate and get away with it, I have just escalated the issue with Paypal and waiting for documents from my lawyer. This guy has got to stop doing this, unfortunately don't know what $$ interests are involved in the internet so that he can continue his scams. We are not the only ones. By the looks of this, this guy has a lot of time doing this to others, the usual scam on the internet, I wonder how much money he owes because that's the personality when you don't return the money that is not yours.

I remember in the video call that he kept moving his phone so that I couldn't see the Syncro clearly lol Roberts is a piece of work.

No mercy for people like him. REPORT THEM!

I would appreciate if you'd take your trolling elsewhere. I'm starting to feel sorry for you.

Stick to the FACTS:

Video call was 60 minutes. I'd wager within that time frame that my moving more or less covered the entire van.

You made a verbal contract to buy the van. YOU BROKE THAT ACCORD. You got your money back because PayPal almost always sides with the buyer. That very fact that you have no issue breaking YOUR own word and then expecting your $ back says FAR more about you than it does me. Wasting peoples time and energies. The $ to me represented principle. Are you familiar with the term accountability or culpability? Considering the one sided perspective that you very clearly have here:

https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=cupability

In the offchance that you decide you don't want to click the above:

In criminal law, culpability, or being culpable, is a measure of the degree to which an agent, such as a person, can be held morally or legally responsible for action and inaction. It has been noted that the word, culpability, "ordinarily has normative force, for in nonlegal English, a person is culpable only if he is justly to blame for his conduct".[1] Culpability therefore marks the dividing line between moral evil, like murder, for which someone may be held legally responsible, and a randomly occurring event, like naturally occurring earthquakes or naturally arriving meteorites, for which no human can be held responsible.

I'm not angry at all Roger. If anything I'm a bit sad. You gave me your word during our HOUR long video chat. You broke your word. When I grew up both my Grandfathers and my parents instilled in me the importance of keeping your word- to the best of your ability. Not only did you break your word, you've also twisted the facts to suit your own narrative. Then you defamed me calling me the liar which is ironic because anyone curious enough to read the email string you posted can read the FACTS and it isn't me who is the liar in this interaction. Saying a lie over and over doesn't magically make it the truth Roger. It's ironic that you gave me your word, broke your word and got your $100 deposit back and that I am somehow the liar and that you didn't steal from me.

If the shoe was on the other foot and you were the seller. I would've handled this very differently. If I were unable to make the purchase due to circumstances that were due to my own situation. I would've informed you and then I would've walked away. You keep the $100 because I know that I gave you my word, I didn't hold up my end of our accord and that you invested time into trying to make a sale happen.

Instead you have chosen to behave in a very low Brow and Vile manner. This will be the last time that I indulge you with a reply.

Sorry to hear this one went sideways, but I had a great experience with Rob. Purchased a slider window for my eurovan and Rob was nothing but professional and above board. He went out of his way to find me the correct frame for my weekender and then shipped it promptly and securely. I appreciated being able to work with someone who was helpful and wasn't trying to gouge me on cost. Thanks Rob.
