I don't know if I'm the only one with a buggy like this... the head lights are not mounted on the fenders and never were. Anyone seen one of these?
They mount to the shock towers. |

More pictures please.
Some bodies did not come with a boss molded into the body for the headlight to mount. _________________ Joseph

I have a buggy body that is the same way, doesn't have the proper mounting locations for the headlamps and its leaving me trying to figure out what I will do when I get to that point on the body as to how I am going to mount the headlamps on mine

I actually like the way they are mounted. I know its not in Specified location for dune buggies but it kind of cleans up the front end a little.
The next thing is to move those turn signals down out of the way also. _________________ Thunderbug by Bugformance 1969 |

X2, I like the lights where they are and agree that the turn signals need to leave the tops of the fenders too. _________________ Gary

... X3 - gives a nice balance to the front. Maybe looks a little more modern also - less a 30's look.
My first impression to the post was, the PO said; "Oooops?!" after he first mounted the TSs too close to the headlight location.

I do not own a buggy, but lurk here time to time and dream... but I too like the look. The frontal view looks nice. Why be like everyone else anyways and it looks good. My 2cents. Maybe someday I will be posting a pic of my buggy as I really would like to find one. It's on my "bucket" list.

The bonus is that you can open your hood without taking off your headlights, which is a nice feature. _________________ Gary

Came across this one a while back:
From the hole on it, looks like the headlights were mounted to the top of the fenders with the turn signals outboard of that. _________________ Brian

I sorta like the look of the lower lights too. I don't know if they they shake any worse than on the fenders. I've never driven this buggy. I probably will mount them off the shock towers again because it is unique but will do it better than this angle iron. Here's what I ended up with. Took the Dietz light buckets off another buggy I have.

I think they look cool down low myself, just remember the law says no lower than 18" to center of the headlight. |
