make that a small step. I usually spend most of my time here in the vintage speed or bug sections, so I thought I'd stop by and say HI. I've started down the road of turning my 58 into a baja. The car is totally apart..has been for some years. This week, I installed a set of IRS pivot mounts, made a 6 inch wider front beam...and now deciding how to mount the 002 trans I picked up. Plan is to make is look good and reliable enough for a daily driver for my son. Car will be 95% street use with the occasional hunting trip off road.

Thanks....I'm sure I'll have a couple questions along the way.
Plans are pretty basic compared to many rides here....it will just be a street baja that looks nice....for now. I'll try to put some pics up later this week.

Hi 58Dub.

Good luck on the Baja. I am currently turning my 70 into a Baja. Not too far from you either. I'm between Holly and Ortonville. If you need an extra set of hands for anything give me a shout.

Ken

Sweet seeing a nice old 58 being cut up instead of restored! Looks like a great project. A 58 in Michigan is bound to turn some heads....Can't wait to see the finished product!

Picked up some 2 X 3 steel to make up a body lift. Need to get out to the welding store and get my mig tank filled.
