Will changing p/c to 92mm with everything else stock except for header exhaust be much more power than a 1600? It is a dual port. |

Define "much".
A 25% increase is about 12hp. _________________ Glenn

and you won't get all that without a carb change. _________________ [email protected] Please use email for all general inquiries.

You will feel a differance, but without improving the induction it won't be a big change. |

something to think about is, that if your "stock" 1600 is "tired" you will notice a diference.... |

Well its going in a 61. The 4.375 tranny in it is shot. I am going to replace it with a 67 4.125 tranny and swap out the tired 1200 for the 1835....should be a little quicker. |

I ended up using a progressive weber that I found in my spare parts. I think the main barrel is only 26mm and I can't even tell a difference when the secondary opens. Car definately has more power. I don't have a tach, but it feels right at 75 mph on the interstate now. It does have a counterweighted crank which is probably why it feels smoother at 75 mph. I never liked the solex 34 pict carbs, but I wonder if it wouldn't actually have more power than I do with the progressive.? Anybody know how the progressives are on gas milage? I am thinking the small main barrel might be good for mileage. I am running dual exhuasts (1&4 together and 2&3 together) with a modified heat riser setup. It has good heat through the riser. |

I have the same setup your looking at: 1835cc with headers and glass pack with a stock 34Pict-3 carb. You'll get more "seat-of-your-pants" torque, but the engine runs out of breath just like your 1600cc does. I still get decent milage, great drivability. If I had the right carburation, I'd probably feel like a completely different motor.
