No I did not, unless I was going to replace the insulation on the whole Van.The point is to warm up the rig.

The auxiliary Battery, power inverter are done also.
the Solar panel is next, I just need for the weather to go over 45* to get motivated (it was 33* in my garage by the time I was done last night.)

the propex is working very Nice, I made some window insulation, that attaches with magnets, and could be use on the inside and out side off the van.
My problem now is that after installing the solar panel, the auxiliary battery and power inverter, some thing is draining both batteries,
any ideas, on where or what to look for?

I finally finished mine up and I thought I'd tag my pics onto your thread rather than create a parallel one. Thanks for the inspiration and the dimensions. It helped a lot.
I cut about 5.5" out of the fridge door and everything fits nicely. I could have done a better job scabbing the door back together but I didn't have a biscuit joiner.
This really is a great place for the propex. The propane is right there already. The burner lines are easy to vent and the hot air vent it perfectly placed in the van IMO. That was probably my biggest motive. I wanted a vent that wasn't likely to be blocked by a pile of shoes or other gear.

Nice!!
I'm having issues on how to cut the door, and still fit the plastic strip. I like the way you did it.

I figured that pin striping decal works nice to finish and cover the cut on the door

This is just killing me Very Happy I have toiled over the fridge replacement and finally decided I am doing the Truckfridge as well, therefore I will be doing a fridge cabinet rework as well. I have to say, 71 Mystaboo, Claire and Eileen's setup is the best one I have seen.
It vents right over the table which gives the heat to the bed area on cold nights, and, heat rises. I do like the bottom of the fridge cabinet mod as well. They had their portajohn slide right in the bottom of that cabinet where your propex is. Decisions!

I've seen that. it is slick and super clean, the only problem I see is the heat come right by the window, and that can waste some of it, and you can't direct the air flow.
My friend really loves where I installed his, it warms the camper nicely, even when the sit is up. And you can turn the Blower vent up down or to the front of the van thus heating quicker

Hi,

I like both of the propex installs I saw on this thread.

I have one question; I have the green propex ( hs2800), I noticed that one installation is facing the door of the fridge and the other routes into the adjacent closet space and back into the front of the fridge area (perpendicular to the other installation). Can I mount the hs2800 either way?

Or am I limited to routing that model into the closet first?

I'm curious about this too as I am trying to decide between the 2000 and the 2800. For various reasons I think the floor of the former fridge location is the best spot for me.

This famous thread has the 2800 mounted sideways, another nice install: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5...;start=360
