M-code/VIN should be right behind the passenger seat.

I think the bus was actually "customized" at one point, because the roof and back of the roof is white, as the gates had white accents...as you can see from the pictures.

The red framed window is from another bus that had "pop-out" side window's. One of the reasons to ask for other buses. Did you ask about the hoops and canvas?

M-plate is on the bulkhead behind the passenger side of the cab. Pull out the back rest and hopefully it's there.

What are you going to offer? Like I said, if you really want it bad $600 is a good price. But, I'm sure you can get it cheaper.

From those photos, and depending on how accessible it is...my first offer would be $300. Then it would be paper, rock, scissors from there Laughing

Agreed^^^^. I just got my 63 Ruby Red single cab on the road and Im looking at this thing thinking, I could use those treasure chest doors, both bumpers, radio block off plate, etc.. I would buy that thing for $600 right now just so I could part it out for my single cab.

In my opinion, just the bumpers alone are at least half the value of that truck. Title or no title, it would be a done deal for me!

BTW, how bad are the gates and treasure chest area?

In my silly opinion- Red should add $100-500 of the purchase value to any beater truck- based on relative scarcity. Go get it. You'll always get your investment back should you change your mind.

Well, spring is well underway, and my restored superbeetle just left the yard to a new home, so its time for a new VW to sit next to the baja.

I think im the new owner of a single cab.

Honestly for a Michigan bus that thing looks pretty solid. Get more pics of the underside posted when you can. Good score.
