VWCCNY Monthly Meetings: Are held at DENNY’S Restaurant on South Bay road, just North of Northern Lights plaza
On the 2nd Monday of the month in the back room from 7pm-9pm, room is open @ 6pm for VW dinning.

• Crystal Ball cruise. VWCCNY members volunteered to join the procession of street & Hot rods chauffeuring Marcellus Seniors to their Senior Ball, and in appreciation we had a catered open bowling party, then take the students to their after prom party.
This is a great event for local participation and makes a lasting impression on the VW volunteer as well as a happy couple's Ball memories.

• 10/01 VWCCNY Apple_Umpkin fall cruise annual VW event for gathering apples and pumpkins while enjoying the beautiful foliage and challenging scenery of the Cherry valley region south of Syracuse. Cruise route included meeting @ Webster's pond, apple picking @ Beak and Skiff orchards, $1-$2 pumpkin picking as well as twisty 13curves and a final destination at VWCCNY sponsor and restaurant BOOM BOOM MEX MEX serves up some great Family style Mexican food and we always hang and talk afterwards. A tasty end to a flavorful fall day.

The Crawfish festival is an annual fundraiser for Operation Southern Comfort,
Operation Southern Comfort (OSC) is an all volunteer organization based in Central New York rebuilding hope for the people of the Gulf Coast by rebuilding homes, one at a time. OSC has no paid staff. All of our officers, members and travelers volunteer their time, energy and work effort.

VWCCNY member Jon Ryan is a commercial honey producer and has offered an invitation for any of the VWs & campers
To visit his “honey House” where the honey is harvested and processed into containers. This isn’t harvest season, but he’s offered to show and tell us how they produce Queens for the many hives he places around the finger lakes. There’s no need to rsvp, the tour will start from Fillmore Glen at noon on Sunday taking the short drive over to his Honey House.
* Empire VW camping is open any & all VWCCNY members to come out and spend a night under the stars, with VW tales around the campfire.


** The Syracuse Nationals at the NYS fairgrounds are coming July 15,16,17.

With only 20 VWCCNY display spaces available, don’t wait till the last month. Al is coordinating the VW staff volunteering during the Syracuse nationals.
Benefits of volunteering for ½ day is waived $40 vehicle+2 adult admissions, and the Syracuse Nationals offers a charitable donation to a charity of the Club’s choice to the top 10 volunteering car clubs. VWCCNY has earned this honor twice since the program’s inception.

VWCCNY is once again asked if any members could be so gracious to help make the Senior Prom a memorable & safe one for Marcellus High.
The Car Club Association will be there with many varieties of classics from the various CNY based Antique & classic car clubs. It’d be grand if VWs were also a part of this memorable evening. Prom go’ers are picked up in the afternoon at Marcellus High and taken in a parade of classics to the Prom location, then the Driver’s and co-pilots are thrown a party of their own by the PTA, till once again the cars are asked to escort the students to the after prom party.
This is a late night commitment and goes on regardless of the weather, remember this is a special night for their Senior Prom.
And remember this is a rain or shine CNY event. Open bodied VWs may not be appropriate.
The Crystal Ball Cruise Association Inc., using volunteer classic cars, transports Seniors to their Ball in return for their pledge to be drug and alcohol free

May 27 VW Thursdays @ the beach Memorial day Thursday Classic car cruise night @ Sylvan Beach, NY on the Eastern end of Oneida lake

June 5th is the Annual VWCCNY club VW Display at the Antique AACA Show in the Shade, Longbranch Park Liverpool
VWCCNY past-President Al Finocchiaro has been a great coordinating effort for this event.
Come join us with a nice day on the grass at one of the longest running Antique & classic car shows. Food & Music on site.

June 11th CNY Corvair Recall, extends an Air-cooled Invitation to the VW Club of CNY. Located just off Rt 298 East of Carrier Circle.

VWCCNY is looking for VWs to participate in Either the Car show, Autocross or Funkhana with your Classic Air-cooled VW.
They are more than pleased to accommodate our VWs and offer a class in their Saturday Car show as well as open up time slots on their annual SCCA style road rally & unique Funkhana driving event. This is a Regional Corvair event so cars come from all over the east coast to attend. So if you’re just thinking of stopping by to view the cars and watch the races or full on participate, send Susan a heads-up and she’ll do what we can to accommodate all VWs during this event. Give Susan a Heads up if you’re interested in coming out.
*I’m not sure we can sneak in the H2o cars, but maybe we can tell them the Vanagons are Air-cooled.. they’ll be none the wiser
Friday night we will attend a cruze-in at Bella Domani, 5988 E. Taft Rd. They will have food on site. A delicious BBQ for only $6.00 will be available
Saturday morning will start off with Concours and Car display Judging until noon. Just across the road autocross will start after lunch.
Come prepared for a technical drive. The Funkhana and model car display will finish the afternoon

June 12th 78th annual Blossom Festival a “Traditional German Festival” (11am~7pm)
VWCCNY Member Don Brown ([email protected]) has extended an invitation for VWs to park inside during this annual German Festival
Located on Rt 5&20 South of Rochester near Lima, NY, Participating cars are asked to arrive by 11 to ensure they can enter the festival grounds (prior to the spectators @12noon)
Contact Don Brown by June 9th to ensure a parking space and (2) admission tickets for the Blossom Festival. And plan to leave Syracuse EARLY to get into the festival.
I've talked with the "powers that be" at the club, Rochester Touristen Verein, Inc., (RTV),
they and I agree that show-casing your club's vintage VW's would be a fun, interesting addition to the Blossom Fest

June 19th Annual Father’s Day Eurocar show at Lorenzo Estate in Cazenovia, NY
VWCCNY member Glenn Markam is assisting in the organization & promotion of this great annual all European only car & motorcycle show.
Please give Glenn ([email protected]) and or myself ([email protected]) a heads up so we can coordinate space
VWCCNY usually brings ~20 VWs to this event.
There are some changes for 2011 from previous years, but the Lorenzo State park location and atmosphere is grande as ever.
It pays to Pre-register for this event a $8 savings over at the gate pricing and a assurance of a goodie bag. (It’s like 2 free Gals. Of gas)

ALL vehicles entered in the show will be judged by the participants. As a result, judging will take place between 10am and 1pm.
Therefore, it will be advantageous to have your car on the field as close to 10 am as possible. Show field closes at 12:00 noon sharp.

Looking for the rear seat/bed for my 1999 Eurovan Full Camper, I think the previous owner may have lost it in a divorce. Hoping someone knows of a boneyard that may have one...they are unavailable new and my dogs don't want to sleep on the floor anymore.
