Rear drum question

Ok so long story short I need to know if a rear drum from a 68 is the same width as a later one since it's still on a swing axle. The reason behind it is because I mocked my wifes car up with a set of 67 wide five drums which are about a half inch less wide and it works great. I really can't afford to allow the wheels to come out that little extra.

i was hoping that a 68 was be a little skinnier then a later one and be the width of the 67..............sadness lol
