I’m building a buggy that will be a weekend driver, road trips, a couple epic trips hopefully. I have had a couple people try to talk me out of a 2110 (thats where I’m leaning). Saying it’s probably too much engine for what I really want to do. As I said this will be driving vehicle, not a strip car. That being said I WOULD like to be able to smoke an M3 here and there, even if it’s only for a couple gears. What sort of manners will a buggy with a 2110 have on the street? I don’t want to sneeze and end up in a buildingl or off the road.

This is what I’m thinking about. I probably won’t build this, I’ll end up buying a longblock and building it up. I don’t have the time or the knowledge.
2110 AS41 case
82 crank
race rods 5.4"
Engle 120 cam
1.25:1 rockers
Mahle 90.5 P/C
40X35.5
EFI (probably Megasquirt)
EDIS
A1 exhaust 1 1/2"
Please chime in with opinions. EFI is a must, I want to start and go from mountains to the coast. Reliability over performance but I want to consider both. Economy isn't really a concern although it would be nice.

Thanks

Jason

Sounds good but get some good ported heads. Steve Tims is a great place to start.

Step up to 94's.......

I had a similar engine(2276 w120) in my buggy and it hauled ass. It would catch rubber in every gear with 295/50's on the rear.

You will definitely give the M3 a good run for its money but it will get you on the highend. Light to light. Thats how i do it. I love their faces at the next stoplight. Like, wtf.. that piece of shi- can do that?! Even the big engines can run cool and be good on gas too. You want mileage go stock. Ditto on the stage 2 heads. Good for up to .570 lift. Thats a lot for the street. If your going with W series cams, I personally would choose a 125 for your set up. But hell thats just me.

Bah, there's no such thing as too much engine (well maybe for some people who drive like idiots and can only drive at full throttle).

Just because you have the engine doesn't mean that you have to use it all the time. Most of the time I am driving my buggy it is just cruising along with traffic like a normal car, and using less than half throttle to do so. Drives smooth and you'd never know that there's a lot more power there if you want it. But its nice to feel the acceleration when you put your foot down... Twisted Evil
