|
So I took off my pulley, pulled out my seal and removed my oil pump all to make sure to fix the leak ive been having. Now the problem is i live 46 miles from a town were they would have to order the part so i would have to make a trip down to show them the stuff so they could order it and another trip to pick it up when it comes in. So if i can just find out what it is i need to order i could save alot of money. The shop told me there was a ton of different parts these could be so they had to see them if anyone here could tell me what they are or what to order i would greatly appreciate it. oh and i have a picture here of my pulley it has a groove and im not sure that its supposed to be there.
This is the groove in the pulley i was talking about. _________________ 63 baja (r.i.p)

It looks like a National oil seal #321460 that fit into snout of the case cut for a seal.
As for pulley that is very common to happen with a aluminum pulley wearing.
Most sand seal pulleys you buy now days have a steel sleeve pressed on to keep if from wearing into the pulley.
I know EMPI is a bad word on this site. I have been using one of their sand seal pulleys for a few years with no problems yet.
CB Performance in Farmersville also sell sand seal pulleys.
More than likely the pulley being worn was causing your oil leak.
The oil pump lools like a 8mm bolt hole pump that was used in engines from 1968 to 1970.
Looking at the oil pump cover it is from an early 6mm bolt hole cover that has been drilled out.
If this is the case with the both the pump and cover bolt holes drilled out you may not be able just to install a new pump and cover. If someone just drilled out the 6mm holes and install 8mm studs in case. From the factory when they went to the 8mm studs they were drilled offset from the 6mm holes.
I seen it in the past when working on engines. Can be made to work. _________________ Joseph
