I have been working on the idea of removing the ashtray and using the opening for a vent when I will install my dash mounted AC.
This way I will not have to cut holes in the dash and if I make the vents big enough I might not need any other vents.
The picture is just an initial 3D print to see what it would look like.
I might change the design to 4 smaller vents. Maybe add a flap that can redirect the AC output the the 2 main dash vents.

That’s funny, I was thinking about that myself today, I have in dash air and it’s lack luster and a center duct might help,
Ideally a vent that had 2 inlets, one blowing defrost and one at you.
