Many many thanks for doing so!

I too used photobucket for some earlier posts I did, I regret doing so whenever I look back at them.
Some of the photos are simply gone from my collection.

Sadlt This thread is rendered almost useless by hosting photos there.

I Didn’t expect that back in the time when like many pple I dropped pictures in photobucket. Was easier to upload in bulk with no need to resize high res pictures one by one.

Will fix that and upload on the samba gallery when I have time

Here's the photo resizing thread on the site
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=51

If you use Windows, the program in there does them all at once, you don't have to resize them one-by-one.

Unless they are HUGE, you don't need to resize - The site will resize them to the allowed max size here after upload too. They do upload faster if they are smaller in the first place.

If you can upload the pics here I can give you access to edit the original posts to fix everything. Let me know when everything is here and you are ready.

That's much appreciated.
As moderators we can edit the links for you, especially the old entries that have timed out.

BTW it is possible to bulk upload the photos on the Samba. When you open the "select" dialogue and it directs you to a folder on your local computer, you can select a bunch of photos and they will all upload in one hit. I usually limit that to five or six though, but it works for me.

Lovely thread, lovely car, now added to the " Ghia Restoration Topics – For Instruction and Inspiration" thread

Nicholas

[EDIT] I notice you've already put some pictures up. I've gone back and edited your older posts to preserve your original entries.

Thanks for the encouraging words! I have saved all your photos for reference.

I notice that you have the 59 dash pad. It seems only later 59s had them (January something and on). Do you know the build date of you car (did I miss it in the thread)? Mine is August ‘58 so it doesn’t seem likely that it had the pad. That said, some have said that the shape of the dash in my car indicates that it did have a pad. In other words, confusion reigns. Would be interested to hear any information you have on this.

Be sure to keep your Ghia under lock and key or you might find it replaced with mine one night.

Michael

...

I'm curious about how the driver's door has a pull strap, while the passenger's door has an arm rest.

Is that how that built them back then?
If so, what do you suppose the logic was behind that decision?
(The driver should be actively using both arms to drive, and never "resting" one of them on an arm rest? Smile )

Absolutely Stunning Karmann Ghia, BTW!
