This is a rebuilt fibreglass camping trailer that I added VW bits to match the bus. Wheels are 10'' Mini wheels with VW hubcaps spot welded to the mini hubcaps.
Then moved onto an Eriba, a trailer that sleeps 3/caravan. |

What I bought from a guy who used it behind his RV when traveling the USA, then later he used it for hauling garbage:
This is after I brought it home with my Jetta...scary! The wheel is a castor and since I backed it up, it's pointing 180-degrees around.
After I removed the sides and made legs for it:
The trailer behind my Squareback being used by our club chef:
I've since added a stop light on the back left corner. I think it came from an old school bus; it has the word "STOP" molded in the glass lens that I bought from a classic car swap meet (the item is genuinely old). My plan is to straighten the mounting points, make a receiver hitch for the Bus, and then tow this behind it. Some day... _________________ Toby http://www.aircoolednut.com/

All these pics are making me jealous. Does anyone know who makes a tow hitch for a bus? Where can I find one? Are they all custom made? |

Depends on the year. Later models, like mine, I can't find. Why, I do not know, it's not like they're a rare model _________________ Toby http://www.aircoolednut.com/

GoWesty has trailer hitches for late model bays provided you have the stock muffler. Extractor exhaust and that trailer hitch won't work. |

So where would one find a hitch for a 71? And would having an adapter for a bug motor matter? |

I saw that and I'm not too sure about it. I don't see how it would mount beyond the bumper and really don't trust a strictly bumper-mounted hitch (not frame mounts). Plus I prefer a receiver style. Thanks for the heads-up, others may find it useful _________________ Toby http://www.aircoolednut.com/

Bolts to the bumper and to the mustache bar. I understand the concern about a frame mounted trailer hitch/reciever hitch for the ability to remove the stinger but if you are not pulling (hopefully not) a 3500lb + load capcity trailer but more like the small light trailers exhibited here a reinforced bumper mounted trailer hitch would be sufficiant. I have just bolted a trailer hitch to my bumper hauled my trailer 1000 miles last month without a bump rattle or roll...... |

Your adapter will not be affected by this setup. This hitch is top notch.
There is also a factory hitch made to fit early bays that bolts to pre-threaded holes on either side of the frame. It is a three piece unit that unbolts for engine removal. There are some pics in my gallery. _________________ nothing |

Awsome photos .
I have a 58 beetle front clip that use to be a body shop display that I am hoping to start on this summer and turn into a trailer to pull behind my 70 westy or my rabbit . _________________ ~Jay

Reese makes a class II hitch ( 1.25 inch ) 350/3500lb that bolts on to the frame of a late bay. Reese Omni II. I'm on my bike tonight or I would go out and get the part #. I got longer bolts to install it. 10m x 150 thread, 17mm hex head. Almost any adjustable hitch would work. If the mounting holes don't line up, just drill your. 35 $ from pick & pull _________________ 78' westy, 2.4 195hp ecotec, audi turbo a/t, a\c, 2 1/2" lift spindles, index rear, 930 cv's & axles, 225x65x17 BFGs ## 77' hardtop 2.0 T-4 duel 44 weber's, 225x50x17s ## 74' baha bug |
