Face F#$@K book. I'm registered but I rarely use it. Finding friends from the past that I have nothing in common with? It may be for allot of other folks, but not for me. I don't need the world seeing my sh#t. If you are in my life call,e-mail or find me on The Samba. Don't write on my wall... I'll only have to paint it. (besides they are selling all your info to ad agencies). |

I don't like any of the social networks due to the fact they attract criminals. I know the average joe hooks up with their old acquaintances, but if I know you, you know how to find me, we don't need the internet. Someone I know just had their father kidnapped because these dummies posted they owned a jewelry store and posted pics of themselves in the store. The kidnappers found out from a friend of a friend on myspace.com , this was confirmed by their local P.D. _________________ I'd be UNSTOPPABLE if not for Law Enforcement and PHYSICS.

Refuse to join. Lost "friends" who only find time to communicate that way.

After having paid $580 million for MySpace just a few years ago, the News Corporation sold it this year for $35 million. That's the equivalent of selling it for scrap. Can Facebook be far behind? _________________ Central Jersey VW Society

MySpace crashed and burned because Facebook became the de facto standard. If you want to find somebody, you go to where all the people are, and MySpace just lost that critical mass to Facebook.
I joined Facebook a year ago and use it all the time - to play my favorite word game. I have some friends there that I lost contact with a long time ago, but most of the people I'd like to talk to aren't on or don't say much. The ones that post all the time, I don't really care about, but it's easy to filter that. I don't use it to talk to anybody in the town I live in or at my workplace.
But some friends that are now in different states it's fun to see what they do from time to time, what their kids look like. I did find my mom's long-lost cousin that she hadn't talked to in decades, so that was kind of cool.
But mostly it's just a way to waste time. Some people watch sports, some people hang out at the bar every night, or go on Samba chat. _________________ A '68 fastback owner, and maybe a driver |

I'm 57 and I was talking with some much younger people about Facebook. I have an account but it's just so I can see what my young-adult-daughters are up to.
During the conversation I casually mentioned that I have a total of 7 friends on Facebook. There was a brief pause and then the "kids" burst out laughing. I was not in the least bit embarrassed. I'm not ashamed to admit how many Facebook friends I have, because Facebook "friends" are an artificial commodity.
One of them then took out their wallet, waved 4 one-dollar bills in the air and announced "I have 4 friends". My point was made. _________________ Central Jersey VW Society
