Hello. I have owned a number of bugs, but never a bus. I found this in a field, and I had to save it. As near as I can tell it hasn't moved since 1969. Thats when the last plates were registered, there were some invoices and newspapers inside, but nothing dated newer then 1969. The odometer shows 27940. The original engine is in the back completely disassembled, but looks to be all there. It was the standard old farmer storage unit. The remodeling company left about 20 paint cans in the back. There is a rust hole just in front of the pass. rear tire about the size of your fist, and thats about all the rot. I don't know what I will be doing with it yet, but I know I needed to bring it home. We buffed a small spot and it will shine up really good. At some point somebody had painted the whole thing white with brushes. After 40+ years sitting, all of the white has flaked off back to the original paint. I stopped at the car wash, but haven't touched it other then pulling all the non-VW crap out at the dudes place. I will start cleaning it when the weather gets nicer.

What can you pro's tell this bus newbie about this thing?? Here is the date on the m-code 22 09 0

I saw these seats might be worth a little bit. The middle flip seat has 6 legs, and both are in pretty good shape.

Great score, and thanks for saving it.

Oh shiznit! 6 leg middle seat, worth some dough for sure.

Sept. 22nd 1960 build date. Walk through is a bonus.

Don't buy lottery tickets for the next several years, you just used up ALL of your good luck, cocksucker. That's the jealousy speaking.

I can tell you that bus looks badass. nice logos and patina on a walkthrough panel. how does the rest of the M-code plate read? any other options? or is it just 360 183? (just guessing here)

those seats are an awesome bonus. very valuable.

Super nice score and congrats on your first bus!! Don't get too excited though as this kind of score may not happen again. Relish in the excitement and jealousy from all of us and please please do not publicly disclose how much you paid for this bus.

Hey, Nick makes do with his God given talents. When he shaves his legs and puts on a long black wig, I didn't, uh, I mean you wouldn't know the difference between him and a hot little Asian chick!

I actually muttered an audible "Oh my God" when I scrolled to the pic of the seats. I know it was out loud because my wife came in from the other room with a very concerned "What??" Very Happy

What a great score! Congrats.
