|
|
I just got this '85 Westfalia camper (my first Vanagon) and have been going through it getting everything up to snuff. I looked under the sink cabinet the other day while cleaning and noticed this clear tube that isn't connected to anything (coming out of the wall):
Is that the city water connection and should it be connected to the faucet?
Here are a couple photos showing underneath the faucet and the entire cabinet. The faucet has another tube and some wires attached to it. Is there anything else weird or missing that I should have? I just want to make sure everything looks right before I try to run water through it. I read a good thread about cleaning everything out and everything with some good photos, but I couldn't figure this one out. Thanks!

Do you have a nonstock faucet replacement that doesn't have them city water connection perhaps? Post a photo of your faucet up top.

Considering I was just in my cabinet: The gray line is city water, the clear tube is tank water. If yours still has the stock/OEM faucet, it's possible the PO does what I do: disconnect the tank hose after every trip to let it air out to prevent mold and such from growing in the hose.
Edit: The wires are for the switch inside the faucet to run the water tank pump. _________________ ~Kamz

I'm not home right now, but I think the faucet is stock. I'll have to check it out. Airing out makes sense, I'll have to get in there to see if I can reconnect it. Man, it's a tight squeeze in there! It was hard enough just taking the photo. I just wanted to make sure it's supposed to go to the faucet before I tinker with it. |

Take a look inside your water tank and see what hose is connected to your water pump. |
