I didn't keep a running thread on my SC resurrection, but there are a few photos in the gallery. I have done everything myself; rust removal, fabrication of some replacement parts, welding, prep and paint, fabricating a roof rack, and sewing my own tilt. Oh yeah, and building a new engine with an upright conversion to put a 2.0l type IV engine in it. All done in a regular two car garage (usually with a second car in it during the week).
I didn't keep a running thread 'cause I didn't think anyone would be all that interested in seeing what some average Joe was doing. I'm no expert, I just like doing things myself. If there's actually any value in pulling a thread together, even if just for inspiration for others, I will.

I like the thread. It shows how normal people, like myself, who have normal jobs, resurrecting these less fortunate rusty busses. Of course props to the pros, but this dosent mean some of us regulars are "mickey mouseing" the work.

I have major respect for the guys doing the metal work themselves. But, I know my limits and will tackle everything else but metal. That being said, the threads put together by regular joes are usually the ones I find most interesting.

I agree with you and kept the list to what the 'regular joes' (non pro/non shop) guys are doing.

I like the thread idea a lot. I only share my build to benefit the community as a whole, not to show off. I wanted to gather the same kind of build links in one spot so people can learn what is involved before they tackle these tough jobs and take apart a bus to restore....and never put back together.
My thread is more like a journal for myself and anyone who needs to know technical know-how's.
To be honest, I didn't think people were that interested due to lack of comments, good or bad. 12,000 views and counting, but only a handful of people responding. Yet, multiple threads of removing paint to uncover OG paint stirs up tons of interest...... |

Trust me there is a reason why there's so many views on your thread. People ARE interested and the lack of comments mean nothing. There are way more people that 'lurk' than actually post.
I started this thread directly after reading your 'nose job' post because the 'blood sweat tears' feeling that is so common in these threads.
I spent 6 hours sanding my bus today. The pain in my muscles in inconsequential to the joy I feel. The extra attention my wife is paying my sore muscles is a nice bonus

Great thread. I often search other build threads to figure out how things go together. I've also answered many posts and PM's requesting pictures of certain areas. One stop shopping now.
I'm flatered to be in the original post. Even more flatered to be in it twice!
