Hi all
I have attached a picture of a bus I am totally in awe of.
I desperately would love to find out more on this specific bus
Can anyone tell me if it's ever been featured in a magazine or is there any threads about it ?
Regards
Dan |

That is Festus Blowtorch. Ex church bus from NC. I think Chump Change Customs built it. _________________ 61 Turkis 11 window. Rough, patina'd, slammed, 2110, Fun.

Will do !
If anyone could help
I'm just about to start a very unique project similar to festus blowtorch though it's 63 small rear hatch so not as early
What I want to know is how the exterior patina and rust would have been treated and clear preserved ? |

It was an electrical company work vehicle; og from Hickory , NC. _________________ WANTED:

I still regret not buying that bus for 700 bucks.
The rusty roof scared me off. _________________ WANTED:

Doug, your area is just the "source" for cool looking patina Bus's. That's what attracted me to the "Wolf" when I saw it. Roof repair is tricky, just reroofed a 59 sc... _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

Hey Manfred,
I don't know about our area being "the source" for patina buses; most of the buses that are found in my area are being consumed by the earth.
I think I would rather be hunting in your drier climate for sure.
Here is a pic I took of the 56 in the chicken coop; you can see the rust around the driprail.
The 66ish sundial in front of that bus was super solid and a nice bus; asking 2500 at the time _________________ WANTED:

I hate it when people call rusty metal "patina." _________________ Don't worry; be happy. (Baba) |

I consider rusty metal patina until it is rusted through; holes are not patina. _________________ WANTED:

That reminds me: many years ago, I was at Bug-o-rama, southeast of Sacramento, when I saw an old rusty bus with, I am pretty sure, bullet holes in the body. I spoke with the man who had been driving it and he said that he had found it abandoned under a grove of redwood trees near Santa Cruz, covered with debris from the trees. This bus was solid rust. I take it that bullet holes are not patina, either. _________________ Don't worry; be happy. (Baba) |
