Note: interesting dual mirrors bolted into the tops of the front fenders.

Muddy boots? And older all black license plates (pre 1957) for sure a pre 1956 Beetle.

Yes, these vehicles got used very very well, driven into the ground sort to speak.

Very few survived postal service and those that did were offered later to Bundespost employees in private auction.

Now maybe less than 5 cars still exist, I know that the Family Grundmann have a Postal Oval someplace..... Wink

My Mom and Dad on their honeymoon somewhere in the Dakotas 1959/60 driving Mom's 1956 oval.
I still have the original license plate hanging on the wall in my garage.
