Jeferson, who was the prescient snapper taking all those dutch street photos of ovals etc when they would have been considered plain or 'old hat' ?
like the fuldamobil, goggo and heinkel too |

Good going with the correct identifications! German mini- and microcars were an important part of the 1950's European street scene, for people who could not afford a Beetle but still wanted basic enclosed transportation. |

Thanks for all the photos, Jeferson!
ON this one, it sure looks like a pair of plastic sunvisors on the engine lid! I can't see a method of them being fastened so that they flip UP to act as a rain shield when parked.
Decorative "fishtail" accessory exhaust ends? Would this Beetle be a '61 due to the rim paint scheme, the passenger dash grab handle, and the snowflake taillamps? |

Dumb question, but aren't all of the above bugs really split window bugs with the rear window upgrade? I though any bug with that rear fresh air vents above the deck lid were splits? Do all years of oval bugs have that same grill pattern?
Edit: Never mind. I just went back and looked through about twenty pages and I'm wrong. _________________ Prosit!

Those look like oval speaker grills to me. Even stranger. |
