|
|
Hey guys I just got my first 1964 baja bug today. Im probably gonna need some advice as I start working on it. Ive help build two bajas with a member "codysmith123456" and hes gonna help me with mine. As for the bug, its a 1964 with a 1914 D/P with duel webers. Has f250 seats and truck oil shocks. Ive only got one picture so far but Ive got big plans for it. Any input about whatever would be appreciated.
More pictures below!!!

Looks like a great starter car. Has it been converted to IRS? _________________ I got a Volkswagen for my wife....Best trade I ever made! |

by camber I would say no... by shock angle, I would say yes... by the disk brakes/dual carbs... I would ask how much he paid
In fact, at a glance, this thing looks like a dream starter car...looks to be german front drums, disk rears, engine must have something going on as the carbs look to be at least 44's... If the guy started with disks on the rear, he must have known about climbing hills, pre-smog...I think I've become a "picker" _________________ My classifieds

wondering what the top of the rear shock is mounted to. i dont see a cage in the car. get it running and stopping and then worry about making it pretty. 500 is going to burn quick. the nose seems chopped alot. did it have a narrow eye front end or one piece? |

It is a swing axel which I'm cool with. Both have their pros and cons. I didn't pay anything for it, I traded it for my 2006 ktm 125sx. I have the shocks mounted to a rear cage. The back is cut out and a small roll cage is there so that's what there mounted too.
I already burned the $500, but spent it all on stuff need to get the car back to the street and desert.
The front is pretty chopped but it came with a chopped hood and a "boob" front end piece. (you know what I mean ). I'll be uploading some more pics of it |

ahh the narrow eye kit
As for sound proofing (if you want to) we used FAT MAT on my dad's 67 bus and it worked great. I want to put some on my baja |

Thanks for the input. But now I got an issue. It is very hard to shift the car, I've like gotta use all my strength to switch gears. Any ideas on how to fix this? Will it auto fix once the car is hot? |
