I found a sliding door interior trim panel, but it does not have that black plastic cover over the latch. What is that called and any clues who sells them? Thanks. _________________ 1987 2WD Wolfsburg Vanagon Weekender "Mango", two fully locked 80 Series LandCruisers. 2017 Subaru Outback boxer. 1990 Audi 90 Quattro 20V with rear locking differential, 1990 burgundy parts Vanagon. 1984 Porsche 944, 1988 Toyota Supra 5 speed targa, 2002 BMW 325iX, 1982 Toyota Sunrader |

To clarify, when the door is closed, it is a black plastic piece about 4 inches square at the door's forward, upper corner over the gold anodized latch. I can see it in photos of others' vehicles. I've never seen one. Mine came without the slider trim panel and I did not know these were not integral until I was looking at fit today of my newly acquired panel (thanks, Scott!).....

Not sure what it's called Doug but I'm in the process of piecing my 87 syncro interior back together & here's the part number off the back -
255 843 698 A
maybe you could google it & come up with something? Or maybe a trip to the yard...?
Good Luck. _________________ "Imagination is more important than knowledge"

Bravo - thanks very much! It's a "Sliding Door Latch Cover". Now to find one in black - only see brown ones for sale.... _________________ 1987 2WD Wolfsburg Vanagon Weekender "Mango", two fully locked 80 Series LandCruisers. 2017 Subaru Outback boxer. 1990 Audi 90 Quattro 20V with rear locking differential, 1990 burgundy parts Vanagon. 1984 Porsche 944, 1988 Toyota Supra 5 speed targa, 2002 BMW 325iX, 1982 Toyota Sunrader

Heh - Joe gives great service and even trusted me to ship while I sent him a check last Fall for another part. It was not a small or cheap part, either. The check and part crossed in the mail. Truly noteworthy.
