I can't even figure out what to call these. I tried searching with a few different terms and came up with nothing.
How does the top of the rear seat in a 71 attach to the sides of the bus? I found a couple 'studs' that look like they belong there, but the threads are too big for the holes in the sides.

You have a late seat and are trying to install it in an early bus, bet the seat belt holes for bolting down the hinges don't line up either, you're going to have to do some adapting if you want to keep it. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Well that's kind of disappointing, I thought the seat was original to the bus.
71 seats don't fold down? _________________ -Andy-

Nope, not until 74-75 (can't recall exact date), early seats use an L bracket with a single screw into the sidewall and 2 into the seat.
I guess you could customize the striker pins by turning them down and rethreading the ends but don't expect the seat to stay together in a rear end impact. Your other option is to enlarge the welded in nut in the sidewall, all depends on your skills. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.
