I put in for, and got the time off work, and will show up on Thursday if my loan comes through for the gas...lol.
All kidding aside, at this time I am planning to come for the entire event, but I do have a couple personal items that are in flux, and it is possible that they may flare up.
Keeping fingers crossed.... _________________ '85 GL w/2.1L "The Tardis"

Hey Johnny... that was pretty tricky to put us "on the fencers" in a Quote block to try to shame us into getting on the confirmed list!
Seriously... I'm hoping I can get away. It's going to be a GREAT time. I haven't been contributing much more than opinions to the site build process... I've had the database server week from hell at work! (Sometimes I hate Dell... well... most IT vendors... but then that's just more reason to go to the desert!) I have a big project I need to wrap up before I'm comfortable asking for the time off... and the db server problems just delayed that.
In any case... thanks for directing so much energy to making this a great event. I'll try to get out of the on-the-fence box one way or the other in the next week or so.

I think we are in also. Two adults, one daughter, and maybe one dog. Sounds like fun. We would be leaving from Rifle, CO, so let us know when the I-70 caravan will be passing by. We've done Moab so many times in the jeeps (we were just there on President's Day weekend), can't wait to do it in the Syncro! Anyone bringing a CB or handheld walkie-talkie type radio? If so, we'll have both, could we set a channel up if anyone else has radios? (We're so used to using them for trail and travel communication in our 4wd club.) |

We were just talking, planning, and thinking...Moab starts getting pretty busy from April through fall. Anyway, just a thought if other plans don't work out...our club reserves a place called Pack Creek. They are right near town and have a very large open camping area that you can reserve for a big group. It costs $7 per night/person, per vehicle and has common bathrooms and showers. There are also spots near that include hook ups. The area is not beautiful, it's behind a mobile home park and the camp area is all dirt but surrounded in Russian Olive trees. The guy who runs it is super easy going and late night fires and noise is not a problem, believe me. Just a thought... |

Barring circumstances beyond my control (it has been proven that there are many,) I will be there with Isabel, my dog. I should arrive several days early. You will know me by my big honkin white Syncro AW! See you there. I will be coming from Durango, so if there is anyone coming my way, let me know. |

EvilDNA, EvilWife and EvilKids - 2.8 'em are making plans to go. The .8, i.e. 8 Months Preggo by then may be the Monkey with Wrench, but thus far, we are a go.
I've got two killa mods that I'd love to share with all as well. ClassicV is privileged to have one of those in his van already.

The Syncro Solstice planning folks have been receiving such an incredible response to the Syncro Solstice announcement and planning. We are starting to finalize some events that are really number-specific, and I thought I might create an area for a geographic head count, and also a good means for those of you attending, to plan caravans and other activities from your region.
I have started things below with a simple format containing people that have spoken up about attending so far. Just give a shout out if you and your posse are coming, or to confirm your position on this list (I will note with a little ✔), along with your anticipated arrival day (things get going early afternoon Thursday). Some people have expressed interest in participating in some capacity, and I have denoted them with a ☼ (Söl Patrol). A post or a PM is fine, I will continually update this post to state those attending or on the fence, you can use it to plan caravans or other vanagon awesomeness, and the Solstice planning committee will use it to plan the best Desert Transporter Jamboree possible.
Please let me know if I have you in the wrong location on this list, if you have changed your mind, if you have more or less attendees (posse), or know someone else that is not a Samba member that is coming. I don't mean to speak for people, I just took these names from a few lists I have seen floating around. If this seems inappropriate I will remove, but this passed all my basic public-info filters. For the most part I have screen names only, which still allows folks to PM and organize well enough, right? If you have ideas on info that may improve this thread and make it more useful to you, please let me know! Anyone know how to make a table in this forum thread?
We will continue to post updates in the other Solstice thread (here: Syncro Solstice May 12-15, 2011), and the site is not far from a soft launch, so things are moving along well. We will also launch the formal registration on that thread very quickly, and provide a final schedule which will include costs (which are expected to be very LOW!). The committee is stoked, full of talent and riddled with Utah desert adventure experience. We hope this unique, Solstice experience will be the first of many years of desert play that brings this incredible and diverse community together in fun and education. There are many folks working hard for a simply wonderful trip, and we hope you can make it!
