|
|
Hello everyone its been a while since I've been on here. hg I just bought myself a 78 Bus, its crusty and green and since I bought it yesterday and it was St. Patrick's day I came up with the oh so original name of "Paddy". I had the pleasure of breaking her in on my trip from Sequim (Northern Olympic Penn) down to Poulsbo (North east on the Kitsap Penn). I got it up to 70 MPH on a straight away and it ran amazingly, the wind was against me the entire way Here are some pictures of her.
I warned ya about the rust But I love it! I will get you the oh so needed engine shot sometime soon. Oh yeah and the heater works !!! Also I have a friend who does rust repair. _________________ Current VWs: 2001 2.0 New Beetle 250k

You're kidding right? If not, well its on the rear window the front driver door on the bottom, the passenger side rear vent has a little chip the wheel arch on the rear passenger side has a rust spot , both rear view mirrors. It doesn't make me uncomfortable at all though The paint is oxidized though! _________________ Current VWs: 2001 2.0 New Beetle 250k

I've heard of using CLR to really get the stuff off will that work without stripping the paint? _________________ Current VWs: 2001 2.0 New Beetle 250k

I think I remember seeing it now. I have a friend that I keep looking for a bus for, I guess I missed that steal! Of course change out the fuel lines and then buff out that paint. I bet she shines right up! _________________ 1978 Delux Campmobile

My mom actually found this in the attic yesterday morning when she was cleaning it out...coincidence?
Mine came from Hanson VW in Olympia WA
Sweet! Also it came with a nice really old Bentley Shop Manual. I think from 1978.... _________________ Current VWs: 2001 2.0 New Beetle 250k
