I know it's happened to someone...I moved my seat ahead to search for a dead carcass...(it stinks in there) now I can't get it to slide back.

I am going to look closer tomorrow as I ran short of time today.

Any tips or help or sarcastic suggestions would be appreciated!

And no...I haven't found the stinker yet either!

Brian.

Brian use your own advice BFH

I have had my drivers seat get stuck a few times while removing it and when I recently purchased
some seats out of an L. That drivers' side was also stuck. Both seats it was this plastic sleeve that
got caught under the track. Took two of us on the L seat, one pushing and the other hammering
on the lower back of the track. If you go the hammer route make sure that you remove the
plactic from the seat reclining hinge. Also you don't really need to start out pounding the piss
out of the thing. Sorry can't help with the mouse thing, unless you have a dog?

Nope, no dog. Just a flashlight and a sensitive nose. I really hope it's not in the pillar! On a test drive today it didn't get worse when the heat started flowing. A good indicator it's not in the heater.

I do however, have a BFH or two! I shall investigate more tomorrow. The van is still in it's winter home.

I was out today to change calipers, flex lines and dust shields. Have you changed those flex lines? The upper connection on the drivers side? That's just cruel! I won though...with some help from the BFH!

Thanks,
Brian.

the driver seat of mine got stuck real hard sometimes...

to unstuck, you need a helper. You sit on the seat, pull the lever and push hard on your legs. The helper get behind the seat, grab the lower part of the back and pull hard..

will help a bit if you make some sort of rocking motion...

good luck

The seat seemed to move a few inches back and forth...but stopped solid in both directions.

Thanks again for the help.

Brian.

One of the allen head bolts holding the seat rails to the base backed out and is now stuck in the track. You have to inspect it from the rear of the seat and figure out which rail it is jammed in and try to fish it out.
Good luck.

I'm going to second that motion with my laser vision. Happened to me - just keep bashing and jiggling until the bugger pops out or you can roll over it. A two person job.

Well...let me tell you...that was fun. It was the allen bolt. You guys were right.

In order to get it I had to remove the seat and swivel base from the van. The seat is supposed to be removed before you remove the base. It's not fun removing both at the same time. I won though!

Now I have a cleaning job on the carpet to do but the seat works great!

No mouse found.

Thanks for the tip!

I think there is a cap under the van or in the wheel well so that you can drain the pillar.
Pull that out and maybe try to flush it out with water?

Are you talking about the seat or the mouse?

The allen bolt, actually, but congrats on nearly getting soup on my keyboard from making me laugh out loud. Laughing

Blue loctite on those allen bolts before tightening down makes that problem in the future a non-issue.

Unfortunately the loctite wasn't in my bag of goodies but home in my basement. When the van comes home for the season I will do that project one warm and sunny day, especially now that I am so familiar with seat construction. I have a feeling the swivel will need some adjustment anyhow.....

Thanks,
Brian.
