Using a bug wiper switch in a bus

The wiper switch in The "Goat-el" was toast and since I'm on a pretty tight budget and saw the price difference between good original bus only parts and cheaper generic bug switches I though I would try it out. Now, this will work if you don't have your original, jacked-up bus-only switch. It just requires that you fabricate a new mounting bracket. But if you reuse the original mounting bracket, it is about a 10 minute job!

Here is my fubar original switch. It was not repairable, trust me.

Drill out the hole in the bracket to the same size as the OD for the bug escutcheon. I think it is about 5/32". But to be safe you should sneak up on it.

Here are all the parts in the order of assembly. Getting the switch oriented correctly and the escutcheon tight can be a challenge. I had a set of needle-nosed pliers that I modified years ago to tighten it.

Here's everything assembled.

And here it is installed. Easy-peasy!
