I had to replace a headlight bulb at my office and when I got the assembly off the van, one of the adjusters fell apart. I took 2 pop bottle caps and made a temporary fix. I just made a small hole in the caps and threaded them on the adjuster bolt.

It is holding surprisingly tight.

I tapped a chunk of metal I had laying around and then used epoxy to hold it in place.

I welded I washer to a nut then welded that to the bucket. Used a piece of old fuel line as a spring. It's a little redneck but it's super solid.

Here is my contribution to the DIY headlight adjuster. These are nice because they just screw on and you can get the parts from Home Depot or Ace. Total cost is around $1.00/ea if you buy enough to make 5 or 6.

I like the type of drywall fasterner that has both a screw and a hex head. A lock nut and washer is used to snug up against the bracket in case you can't see it in the photo. I thought maybe the two fasterners pushing against each side might make it hard to turn the screw, but nope, easier than stock. Disclaimer: I haven't done a long term test, but feels great.
