When available that would be a pretty expensive engine conversion, but it might be worth it. 4 electric wheel motors sound interesting for off road.

Another option for the power starved diesel-head. I do think a slight bump in the engine lid would be required or the turbo could be relocated. Those are dwarves standing next to the engine, right?

Kinda skinny on the details - heh. I think we're going to see some really innovative powertrain technology over the next few years, and look forward to it.

I think if you tilt it over at 50 degrees, the way VW did with the 1.6 diesel, it might just clear the lid. The diesel carrier bars might need some reinforcing though...

A few years ago there was a couple of guys over here that bought a leopard 1 engine and were planing to mid mount it in a vanagon. They never got anywhere, i wonder why _________________ 1990 syncro 1.6TD "Smily"

Peter Hofbauer developed the Wasserboxer, so his OPOC engine would be keeping it all in the family. |
