OMG!!
I hadn't heard about that. I knew that the Dakar hasn't been held in Africa for the past couple of years because of general political upheaval but ending right here in the good 'ol US of A? Wow! I would love to be at the finish line. _________________ 83 1/2 Westy waterboxer

There should be a fairly large welcoming committee at Area 5 just outside Hollister. |

Dudes...it's not THE Dakar, that event remains in South America, and has already been finished for several months. Next year it will be in S. America again:

I bet the race teams will be ready for a cold one when they arrive at the finish line.

I guess some people missed the big Syncrofest logo smack in the middle of the T shirt above. The last two or three "Dakars" took place in Chile-Argentina thru the Atacama desert. My wife is from Chile, amazing show if you can see these guys in action. I took maybe 70 pictures of the vehicles at the finish line in Buenos Aires last year. _________________ 1991 Westy auto w/ Peloquin TBD

If you ask nicely you can probably get a ride along with someone for a trail ride. 2wd are most definitely allowed.
I think that the registration closed for camping yesterday though. Day passes are allowed I believe.
Come on out. |

The race for the cup should be a ton of fun this year. You not only need driving skills, you need technical skills, and be able to identify parts.
This year's Syncrofest Challenge will be the driving portion for the Cup.
Check the registration tent for more info. |
