Alex,
when I searched through the entire Brembo catalog for rotors, I determined the Sharan rotors where also the best option - a perfect fit. Unfortunately I couldn't find them in the states back then.
My breaking is so strong on the fronts, I would like to use an adjustable brake bias valve to force a little more rear brake pressure. Do you know if any options?
Good news about your neck! My coworkers friend (a Seattle Sheriff) is paralyzed from body surfing in Maui. His accident was last month.

Sweet I didn't know you found that as well!
I don't know of any brake bias valve as I never looked into these.
I will get a friend to bring me the rotors on the plane, but they are pretty cheap, you could afford shipping from the UK let's say.
I also got this summer a pair of rear wheel cylinders from an LT, they have slightly bigger piston size. I might no bother mounting the disc brakes for now, I don't have time to deal with the cables and parking brake.
I'm sorry to hear about your friend, that is terrible!! I'm so glad nothing happened to me really, but I quit bodysurfing big waves, that's it. Twice in less than a year is too much.

Alex you are a genius!
I knew there had to be something out there with the 89mm hole centres that would fit. Are they drilled 16mm? Any particular year of Renault Master? _________________ 1986 syncro twin-slider rhd, 3.2S Oettinger wbx6

Hey man!
Long time no see
The calipers need to be drilled and tapped at M16, but that's easy enough.
With the part number I wrote you will find that it is from a Master I from 1980 til 1998

If you buy them used and want to rebuild them they sell pistons and seals in UK on Jaguar websites: look for XJS coupé rebuild kits

An adjustable brake proportioning valve will only delay how the rears lock up. It won't speed up how quickly the rear brakes grab. That is not to say you could not install it on the front brakes and slow them down. Is your stock proportioning valve still working?

What brake disc part number should we be looking for on the VW Sharan in the US market? _________________ ☮️ |

Hi Mark!
I've put the part number , but here it is again : 7M0615301G.
There is no equivalent on the US market as far as I know. There are other 288x25 rotors out there but the offset is too low, they are used often on the Audi or G60 brake conversions seen here on the forum.
You could use that with a cheap wheel spacer behind the rotor maybe? 8E0615301Q or 4A0615301C or D (39.13mm offset) would be a good start.
You can have th Sharan rotors shipped to the US too
I hope this helps!

Do you guys know that the likes of Claer used to adjust the mounting angle of the inertia valve to change it's response when larger front brakes were fitted?
I was told that they used to send out a drilling template with their big brake kits.
Setting the piston/valve axis a bit steeper from horizontal means more braking effort goes to the rear (from what I can make out) but it all depends on the ride height and stance and how that affects weight transfer under braking. _________________ 1986 syncro twin-slider rhd, 3.2S Oettinger wbx6

Anybody know of a Canadian parts supplier that might have those calipers? I can only find European parts suppliers so far, nothing on this side of the pond.

Yeah, Rockauto recognized the Sharon rotors but where out of stock. They didn't recognize the part number for either the left or right caliper.

I run these on my middie and they are awesome---$38.00 each for the calipers and rotors off a 88 xj fastback-- the machinist goofed up my first pair so I machined them myself and turned the webs out of the jag rotors to fit over the vanny hubs. I bought new pads last year and I'm still waiting for the jy ones to wear past 1/2 way---still haven't--after 20k miles.
you guys are awesome |

See, that's my worry. I have a set of Jag calipers but I'm leery of grinding the spindle or paying a machinist to alter the calipers. If the machinist screws it up, I might not even recognize it until I have problems down the road. I would much prefer to have calipers that don't require any modification.

Hello!
I just realized I never updated my work on the Syncro front brakes with the Sharan rotors. I lost my phone w a bunch of pics but here are the ones I can post.
1mm laser cut stainless steel spacer behind the rotor is all what is neeeded on the Syncro
Eurovan rotors vs Sharan rotors

I'm 99% on my way to ordering these parts and giving this system a shot.
Has anyone any fitment issues using 16" CLK wheels? |
