Out of five buses that I have bought, four were full of trash and some good stuff. It is always like a treasure chest that you get to dig through and see if you can find something of any use. In two separate buses, I found the same Bob Marley cassette. One of the buses had a Greatful Dead and Pink Floyd cassette. What have you guys found in a new to you bus? Very Happy [/b]

I found a new jack and torque wrench in my 69 westy. Heck they were worth the cost of the bus.

I always find the best stuff whike going through cars in junkyards. Busses usually have canned food, incense, essential oils and paperwork including letters, poetry and documentation. The biggest surprize was when a friend and I were rummaging through vw's at the wreckers a big bag of weed fell out from above the speedo he was pulling out of an old bus. I guess he found someones stash spot. Really made his day.

My wife and I found a sign in our westy when we bought it.
"Out of work Far from home out of gas, please help, may god bless"
That was the only thing in there besides every net and canvass part you could think of for a westy. The scary thing is, the sign looked new, we bought the bus from a shop in wichita kansas, and it was titled in kansas....far from home huh??

The one I just bought had two antique wooden cigar boxes under the jump seat - one had a small carved chess set and an unopened pack of playing cards, the other had a very nice folding travel alarm clock. Lots of misc. junk in the closet also that I haven't really had a chance to go through yet.

i used to be a service manager of a high line dealer ,porsche, bmw.benc, exc and the porters would always detail the cars and find tons of stuff from cd's to sex toys ,well one day one of em comes up and says boss you need to see this,i look up and he had placed 3 guns, and about 200 rounds of ammo,he had found them in the trunk
under the spare tire cover!as i start to call the used car manager to see who the previous owner was ,here comes the owner and one very worried
chicago bears player (name with held) he was very happy to see i had his guns and not someone else as the guys in back used to keep the cd's and sex toys!!sorry it wasnt a vw ,but a 911 thought it was close enough!l

In my 77, there was (sadly) no music.

I did find some plastic utencils,
the original jack,
2 battery powered fans,
2 battery operated lights,
a couple replacement wing windows,
and the original curtains!

I got a pretty good haul out of my '82 van.

-3 cassettes (Stan Rogers, Led Zep and White Zombie. Quite an eclectic mix...)
-Supplies for an oil change, including drain pan and funnel
-Map book of Canada
-An extra battery
-a Canadian flag on a stick (used to prop open rear hatch, from what I was told. I use vice grips...)
-4 litres of camp fuel
-a tarp
-a 4 person tent
-3 parking tickets from alberta
-a jamaican quarter
-about a hundred pens
-spare seatbelts for the back
-Corncob curtains! They look like the ones on the Simpsons' kitchen windows.

Oh, and there was a van under all that stuff. Wink

I didn't find any music, but I found a business card for a pawn shop stuck near the stove. One of the two proprietors' names was the same as mine! I am the third owner, and I know the second owner, but not the first. Would be interesting to find out.
