I asked about the shows as this car looks familar to me. Where and when I saw it is anybody's guess and don't even ask if I know who was displaying her. I just thought that you might do better hitting the shows, talking with some peeps and getting some leeds that way. Just my .02 |

It's only been a few years, so you may luck out and find her, but then what? Are you hoping to buy her back? |

I was curious too, but he did say he's working two jobs just to pay the bills.
Maybe he's looking to trade a slightly used WRX for it. |

Keep in mind that an old car sometimes just represents a point in time. Some of us (myself included) look back and somehow gave the car itself credit.
I too wanted to look for my old 62 that I purchased back in 1993. I sold it in 1998 and I always regretted it. I gave up looking for it and then finally it found me. It was at an old friend's house sitting in a field with no chassis, completely stripped. On an upnote it is now the chassis for a 1951 split and its making someone else happy.
Sometimes its not about the car, but the memories. My new attitude is to build a a new car and start new memories.

Is that you getting your diaper changed?
On a more serious note, that car still looks solid. Sad to see it in the shape it's in versus what it once was but it still looks buildable....... _________________ -Greg |

haha too funny man. I was 18 at the time so looking back yeah I was practically in diapers. Doug Histand (president of VVWCA Pennsylvania) now has it in his possession. Thats his L41 black '49 split in the background and thats actually him changing his oldest kids diaper (who is probably in high school now)
Yeah for a moment I thought about picking it up and fixing it again it really is fairly solid. Those are all German fenders and both front and rear apron are still solid and haven't been tapped. It does have some rust issues which is surprising with all the effort I put into rustproofing. I used to hand wax the car every other month and I think thats the only reason the paint held up.
Its build-able to the right person.
Sorry to hi-jack the thread 386kustoms just wanted to share. _________________ Shadetree Westy

Ha ha.....heartbeat....Chevy
Nevermind. I'm dumb.
I know what you're saying about Volkswagen people. Some of the nicest people I've met by far and I've been in and around all sorts of crowds. Including "Chevy People". _________________ -Greg |
