Good thing it's only fender/hood damage and not the body. And thank god your oval didn't turn over!!!

I would like to agree on the gas mileage of the Nissan. I have the 02 supercharged and its horrible. Then it gets worse when I tow my vert, or the pop up camper, or passengers for that matter!

I always wished when I owned my Frontier that it was the supercharged engine...but I could amagine the gas would be worse. Plus I know I would always want to floor it with the suprecharger on it lol... Laughing

I got a DPS crash report and the woman that ran me off the road was given a citation for "failure to yield right of way". She was at fault and her insurance is covering all of the damages. My Nissan was called a total loss because the damages exceeded 70% of the value of the vehicle. The VW was deemed repairable and is in the shop now. Unfortunately, the VW had existing rust, dings and dents that have to be repaired and I am having to pay for that out of pocket. I am going to take the car back to the OG Polar Silver so it will take some work to get it ready for paint. I'll post an update again later when more progress has been made on the VW.

Now that the Nissan has been called a total loss, I replaced it with an all-wheel-drive turbo Subaru WRX wagon. It is MUCH more fun to drive, although not much better MPG.

I know, as crazy as it sounds, the VW is worth more and had less damage.

As long as everyone is Ok
a car can be fixed

I have flat towed for decades and only had one mishap and that was a flat tire.
and I was on one trip where my friends tow bar pin came out going down hill. He eventually slowed- inserted a screw driver and a vice grip to hold it and away they went

It is slowly coming back together. It is looking like it will be another two or three months before it goes into the paint booth. Only the wheels have been painted so far. All of the rust repair is done and the fenders are being worked now.

It's been almost 7 years but my 1956 oval window is back on the road. I bought the car from the second owner through The Samba back in 2005. He said that the original owners wife thought the car was unsafe to drive because of the darker color and they over-sprayed it the green color in 1960. Once it was wrecked I decided to bring everything as close to original as possible.

Most of the original image links broke and I am unable to edit the old posts so I am going to re-post everything again and document the rebuild process some.
