Mine is apart right now with all the trim off. Let me know what reference lines will work best for you and I will measure them out.

If you can measure them from the middle of the middle of the hole upwarts to the middle of the body line ,that would be great Very Happy
Or from the body line to the top of the trim, but your trim is of so that wnat go for now.
Thanxs in advance again

I've been told to drill next to the welded hole, too hard to drill through the welded hole!

Even the worst piece of junk China drill will be harder than any weld. If you're having trouble drilling a weld, your drill is dull.

Drill the hole exactly where you want. Maybe drill it smaller at first, then double check the position. If it's off, you can use a file to increase the size and move the center at the same time.

Here are the dimensions. I tried to use the easiest reference point to drill from. I used a tailors tape which allowed for flex. If I were to redrill these I would use a pinstripe tape to set the desired drop from the reference line (26mm to 28mm) then measure out from the given reference point. The points given are on center for a 8mm or 5/16" bit. Judging by the door measurements varying in a few mm, I would go 27mm across. What's one millimeter eh?. The door measurements were done from the hinge post -> rearward

For the door and rear quarter panel reference line I just used a permanent marker that rode in the groove created by the panel and measured from there. Let me know if you need anything else.

I must have some weak ass drill bits then because everytime I have tried to drill thru a weld it was always harder. but then again I do use the mac bits I should have spent the extra money on the snap off ones

Your weld will always be mild steel. Not hardenable by any heat treating process.
A HSS drill is high carbon steel with other alloying elements, then heat treated to be hard so it doesn't wear out.
I guarantee, any HSS drill will always be harder than any mild steel weld. If you are having trouble drilling, your drill is dull, or you're doing something else wrong.

Or you're spinning the drill bit too fast and burning it up. Also, start with a small pilot hole and then drill the correct size hole. A step bit will give you a nice round hole in your sheetmetal panels.
