Hi Bill, Richard here, "Aircooled" good to hear from you and thanks for the compliment. It was your mentoring on 67's which was key to me learning about 67's and what is correct. Happy New Year!! _________________ 67 Sun Roof / Born Sept 66 / Second Owner

Nice pics on the top of this page from the 1967 vert with red interior. That's my car.
I bought that car last summer in Texas and shipped it to Europe.
Looks like a nice restoration, but is was not that nice. A bad paintjob. But it was a rust free car.
That's always a little risk with buying a car without seeing it.
I took it apart and it will be repainted. In its original color Zenith blue.
I hope it will be ready in April.

Was that done at the dealer or factory for CA delivery? Would that be original for a original '67 CA dual snout air cleaner? Looks like they used the og air cleaner on the later '68 swap H motor I have. l |

My 67 vert had yellow house paint brushed into the interior and trunk. You should have seen it. I had to use a scraping tool to get it off of the dash. _________________ 67 Convertible July 67 Yukon Yellow

I have another for the registry.
VIN: 117493568
Original color Red but painted orange once, not sure what color I will paint it.
Was in one family for 38 years or so, father gave to son, son wanted to fix up and give to daughter but...
I now have it and have been working on it for about five months.
Pan off restoration ongoing...

Hey everyone! I just bought my first classic beetle. It's a 1967, so I thought I would post here. This is my very first classic car, it's in decent shape, minor body rust, needs passenger floor pan and heater channel, driver side has been replaced. The electrical needs help, I do not have brake lights, reverse lights, hazard lights, horn, or interior light. The only thing good I can say is that it does start up and drive! At least that's one good thing. I would love to restore this beetle to all brand new stock original, but I'm feeling very overwhelmed! I do not have the knowledge or experience and I really don't know how or where to start. We'll see what happens, hopefully I'll be able to get her back in top shape one day! |

Vin 117306290. Restored over the last 25 years of tinkering.
Best wishes to all!

I just got my first 67. Vin 117000623
Narrowed front adjustable beam, disks up front, new floors, new drums out back,
Original interior (at least what's left)
Running driving
Starting with new brake master, steel lines, lower driver door hinge patch panel, new axel seal on right rear, no clue why my photos won't load. Oh well. |

If this the real VIN. That makes it #2 on the list. Congrats.
Please post some pics. Like NOW!
Mine was something like 23 on the list. Thanks for bumping me farther down.

Would love to post photos. It tells me the format is not accepted. I'm trying to add them via iPhone. Anyone have any tips on how to upload photos via iPhone???
Also I checked my chassis vin under the rear seat today and the vin tag under the boot lid. Both were 117000623. Sad news tho. The engine is a AH so it's about a 73 I think. |
