The seat covers and door panels were ordered from Wolfsburg West and the carpet is German wool from Lenny at West Coast Classic. |

Not sure how I register a car on here, but I have a 1967 Ruby Red Sunroof.
VIN 117003220 makes it the earliest 67 sunroof on your list. Had it for 20 years. The car is apart, had some rust and was VERY used and worn. Spending a lot of time on gravel roads. Somebody stole the original pan, so it is now on another 1967 sedan's pan. I was hoping the stolen pan might turn up, as it appeared to be taken by someone who wanted a VW pan. but not after 5 years!
I have most of the heater channels and other rust repaired, have many nice NOS parts. Ruby Red with black interior sunroof 1967 should be a great car.
I'm in NE Iowa. I believe I'm the second owner, the first being a woman in Dysart, Iowa.

Here is mine that I just acquired. German made 67 that has been obviously neglected a little but it will be cleaned and fixed up over time. |

Thanks. I'm just a few minutes from Lenny's shop. Sadly I don't think that red would look good in my ruby red '67. My combo is RR/BLK. |

hey folks! recently acquired this gem from my buddy Mark in Boulder.
It's crusty, home to several rodents in recent years, pan is shot but for the most part the car is all there... mostly. pretty rotted front two inches behind the front wheel but hey.. all the chrome bits not still on the car are in the back seat, both bumpers are there and intact and (mostly) straight. original stereo (from what I can tell).. I don't know much about 67s (which is why i'm scouring the forums this week to learn) so i'm not sure if the replaced front black fenders and hood are proper but stoked to start this little project car and get it back cruising around town. I'll update with the serial number when I get back to it later this week.

Hi everyone, I'm new here, and I recently picked up a 1967 Ruby Red Bug. It's incredibly straight, but has some rust on the drivers side pan and in the rear package tray area. Unfortunately at some point one of the previous owners put in a GEX engine that does run, but I've heard some pretty bad things about those engines. My main question to all of you experts out there is: How do I determine what the original colors were for my interior? Right now I have Black leatherette seats, Gray carpets, and Off-white perf. headliner... Would these be a standard color combination for my Ruby Red? I'd like to keep her as stock as possible. It looks like she was number 497,241 to roll off the assembly line... Any help/advice would be great!

Very nice car! The seats and headliner sound rights, but I believe the carpet should be black along with the rubber mats, however the mats might need to be grey with the black carpet.

Just purchased my 2nd 67, been out of circulation for past 17 years, OG paint,
Only needs German left front fender, to make complete. Other than that , not bad for car that was produced 52 yrs ago this month.

Hello 67'ers!
I'm Stefan and I'm from the Netherlands and I also bought a VW bug fom 1967 recently(dec 2018)
It is my first oldtimer and I try to rebuild it together with my dad.
He has experience with complete rebuilds because of his original california VW Thing.(for pictures just ask)
I've been to meetings together with him that's why I also wanted a VW oldtimer. I have seen alot of examples for idea's wat I want to do with it. but it will take time alot of time I think...
I will read and learn alot from this nice forum:)
About the car:
It is a 1500 with front disc brakes and a pre heater in the trunk.(i don't know if that is the english word for it)
I think it is a L633 (VW blue) and it has blue interior.
It is rusty and I need to weld on multiple places but I like the car already without even driven it.
I already have taken out the engine and ordered parts for a good service for it. next step is stripping it down and trying to make the chassis good. after that the body. But I think it will be a long build.

you can register your car in the registry -- see sticky list for 67 registry
Regarding the '67 Ruby - I have a '67 Ruby - the carpet should be black and the rubber mat should be the grey - not dark black. Door panels black - shift knob should be black

Cool car! Interesting to see the earlier headlights on a Euro '67, unlike the U.S. versions. I owned a VW blue fastback once...wish I still had it.

Bentley manual for 1967 bug , did they publish one for that year specifically? If not what Bentley manual is best for 1967?
And lastly whom has them for purchase.
