If you are loading parts to sale? Load A 57 bus driver door and speedometer. |

@ obieoberstar Looks like it by what the flier is saying. If not, I guess I'll be sitting there all alone on Friday.
Will there be water available on site? I'm sure I'll pack a few gallons, just curious if there's a place to wash up. _________________ Bus Builder |

Caravan leaves the I-17 and Thunderbird Home Depot 8-ish...oh hell it never leaves on time. Stops at the Prescott Valley Albertson's to stock up on supplies and goofy raffle then over Mingus Mountain to Jerome.
There is no water on site unless you count the hose up by Pedro's corral that fills up the big, green water truck...I've seen folks set up showers and the rest of us just tough it out for a couple days. There is a convenience store at the bottom of the hill on the road to Clarkdale with all the necessities...maybe a 20 minute drive in an air-cooled VW. _________________ 59 Standard

Hey Fergus - We meet at the Albertson's in Prescott Valley, not the Home Depot (that's I-17 and Thunderbird)...
You've been eating too many cookies again? |

Latest Jerome update at 8:00pm
Rain did let up around 6:00pm. Evening raffle just ended. Didn't win the cheese balls
The weather tomorrow should be outstanding, though might get a little cold tonight. Still some camping spaces available. The 67 raffle bus looks awesome!
Don't miss it. Lots of events tomorrow including a chili cook-off! _________________ 61 Bus, 71 Bus, 76 Beetle, 2013 Fiat 500 Abarth, 47 Plymouth Business Coupe, 58 BMW Isetta 300 |

From Kirk Strawn (Walter's owner)
Sigfried Cordelier. He is a young Frenchman who worked on this year's bus at Chad's house. He helped primarily with the roof. I met him in 2008. He had been a foreign exchange student at Central High in Phx. He met another foreign exchange student from Guam whom he married and started a life in Phx. He rented a small shop and started doing body work as an independent. He was naive and believed that America could provide everything for an energetic soul. I met him because I rented a stall next to his to begin construction of Walter. He moved from teenage start up bodyman to lead Walter creator, leading a team of persnickety artist fabricators and accomplishing what no one thought whas possible, a debut of Walter at the 2009 Burningman as a 1963 Single Cab (interestingly he took responsibility for the fabrication of Walter's singlecab roof/cab. F______Amazing accomplishment!
He is the purest of souls and I am so happy that he won the bus and so proud of him. Thank you AZ Bus Club for being the only way on the planet/Universe that this story could happen.

I can post pics from the event soon.
I was so excited to hear the hooting and hollering over the winners of that rad raffle bus, and then our neighbor Ray came back (1979 green Westy camper) and said "A really nice couple that was by the big bus won the raffle bus."
Later I said to Shay, "I hope it was those folks I hung out with over there, they completely deserved it." He said, "Who?" and I said, "I wandered over and a really nice girl who said she was originally from Guam offered me a banana and a seat in the bus they were borrowing next to her sweet dog." They were a really nice couple - and they were there in a borrowed late-70's green Westy camper. They'd just gotten back from Burning Man recently.
Now next year they can come in their raffle bus! I can't think of anyone more friendly that I met there. Serious good karma man!! _________________ Rebuilt 2.1 in a 1985 manual Camper
