AKA Stuart's excuse to post something stupid. Very Happy

I decided since i get in so much trouble in the whine forum, id just ask it here and get riduculed on this thread for everyones amusement.

first question was: why is a GEX engine bad?

apparently they have a bad record of performance....lol did some searches and read a little and saw my answer.

my next question was going ask about the price of a Zbed, full size, and whether it was a fair price, but that would get me all locked up Smile next qustion please?

Congrats. I've been wanting to make a stupid questions thread for ages, but the thought of being e-eviscerated and 5000 replies of "Get a Bentley" or "Use search" deterred me. However I do believe that there are many questions which are relevant which do not warrant their own thread.

Don't worry. The stupid hears knot, just you Wink

GEX are built from dregs harvested from the rubbish piles of other builders and wherever else they can scratch up anything that looks like it could be a VW part. You may be lucky and like a thousand monkeys on a thousand typewriters, the GEX engine builder may put together a good engine.

Can't help with the Z bed.

First of all; what are you calling a Zbed? If you are referring to a Westy bed, that is not a Zbed. A Zbed is a regular Bus rear seat which has been converted to fold down with hinges made by the Zbed company.

Finally, Stuart posts an appropriate thread, and even in the right place.

My all time favorite was the guy with the ford van asking why a bus was better than it.

Rivieras do not use a stock VW back seat; they have their own custom seat/bed.

I think it's kind of hard if the Westy wasn't originally equipped with the same gas heater. But do a search... lots of topics on those.

Stu, do you attend any shows? Your best bet for a good priced bed will be there. Prices tend to start high and get lower as the day grows long. If you are handy, buy a beat up bed and use the hardware for the size you desire. I recently picked up a Westy bed with only one cushion and both side mechanisms for $10.
