please put some sound deadener in your front doors. listen to the sound when you slamm the door twice on utubevideo.
nice bus,and you now have the kids on your side when wife says "why do you like that old bus?"
your door latch mechanism needs some oil for mechanism and check adjustment.
i love my old bus. _________________ Admin note: Bill Passed away - July, 2017

Our bus is coming along. I picked up my girls from school in it today. Runs great but pops out of 4th.

The driver side door does not have a mechanism. I use a bungy on the inside for now. LOL _________________ 62 Standard Type 2 (Nothing Fancy)

I finally got all my blinkers, hazards and brake lights working. I was having a hard time because the original switch I bought was not working so I had to revert to the Chieftain turnsignal switch I had laying around. Needless to say, it works great. I am going to try and rebuild the OG one and get it into good working condition. I only need the horn now and I will get the bus inspected and tagged for TX. Man, what a jouney this has been.

It snowed today so we took the bus for a cruise around the block. Can't go too far, no tags yet. LOL. My daughter filmed with a cell phone, we had a blast.

Tripendicular! What's the story on the white steering wheel? |
A long time ago this was asked, unfortunately, the white steering wheel has the inside cored out. Lame. I never looked at it, and all this time I thought I had a good steering wheel waiting, LOL. _________________ 62 Standard Type 2 (Nothing Fancy)

Pics are kind of blury, but I fixed all the clips on my rims and hit them with a flat black for now. Bus looks a bit better with all matching rims. I have some 205 75 R15's on the way. Right now all my tires are the same size but do not match as far as brand and tread pattern. I was going to podwercoat rims but decided to divert that money towards tranny repairs instead. Damn 4th gear, why do you mock me so!! LOL. This bus is a blast.
Seemed like just yesterday that it looked like this!!

Ok, getting ready to weld fenders back on, but I have a question, should I cut panel to fit bus, or bus to fit panel? Should I cut panel into straighter shape and then cut bus?

Cut panel to fit bus, the more original metal left in the bus at the end of the project, the better it is. |

Messing around with interior panels. Sorry about bad pics. Adding the long panel and the door panel made the bus a good deal less noisy when driving it. Once I get them all done, I want to cover them in some material.

Here are some current pics of my bus as it stands today. I made some interior panels and cleaned it up. There is still alot of work to be done, but the bus runs and stops great!!!! I have a short video that I will upload later. My family and I have a blast in it.
