|
|
Hey folks,
I am currently replacing all of our window seals. In the process of doing so I want to switch out or modify the metal framing around the slider windows in our '87 Westy such that they look like the '90-91 version (all black/California look).
Do I have to find some windows from wrecking yard and switch them out? Do any vendors carry that style? I haven't found any on the GoWesty or VanCafe's websites.
Can I just paint them black with some Krylon while they are out?
What do you think folks?

Thanks TimWhy,
That is exactly where I am going with the black out thought.

That metal you see is nothing more than a decorative trim/molding piece, it's not a frame. So, what you need are window seals without the molding groove (search all vendors; just did a quick GW search for post purposes).
But, yes, you can paint that molding. Remember: Prep is key; and if you remove it, it's b*tch to get back into the seal. _________________ ~Kamz

Dumb question. How do you remove the glass from the window frame? Is this some kind of design puzzle? |
