1157 is a dual element bulb. Sure you don't need a single element bulb? _________________ Daily driver: '69 Baja owned 44 yrs - Plan B: '81 Rabbit Diesel LS Deluxe - Plan C: '72 Ghia

This. I would drive to Autozone and play dumb. Ask for a blinker bulb and have them help put it in, in the parking lot. If it doesn't fit, they will take it back and find the right one. _________________ '71 Super 'Vert

It has to be a dual element. running lights and turns. I have never seen anything but a 1157, this holder is at least 1/16 " narrower And its atwist in connector |

My turn signal bumper is an original German one but I bought new lights for it and they are either Mexican or Brazilian and ran duel filament bulbs.
They obviously have sealed beam lights in those countries and have the turn signals as parker/running lights like the later US bugs do. _________________ Quick little bug, you got a Porsche motor in that?

Joel the bumper and lights look exactly like your s. Both are the same. The sockets each have 2 elements, they look like any other socket, with the push and twist, but the base of the 1157 is too wide for the socket. I think its some weird import bulb |

They were very cheaply made the ones I got, took abit of rough persuasion to get the bulbs in there.
I had problems with them after a few weeks of rough roads not working so I ended up just fitting the sockets out of some old German ones in there. _________________ Quick little bug, you got a Porsche motor in that?
