Dammit boy. That sucks like a new shop vac. At least the seller backed it.

Man.... You're telling me..
Itszallgood..
Old parts.. who really knows what happened prior...
Seller backed it up 100%.. claiming that he normally restuds them personally but since that one was so nice and already done.. shipped it right out to me...
I have to tweak the exhaust positioning a little now as since the Camber correction.. the axles are a little closer to the exhaust than I feel comfortable with.
I may just flatten the tube and wannabe tractor muffler a little near the axles.
I also want to add a small crossover too.. just to maybe help clean up the twin 3 cylinder flat sound..
Just bout a month away fella.. ..

2016 Kick off show season for our area.
Valentines(ish) show at a local Pizza joint. Its called the Sweet 16 ...as 16 dust collectors are given out..
Warm day, cloudy, cabin fever, spring is in the air..
Time to kick the spiders off and get the fluids dispersed.
Swung by grabbed my Pop and our Gray Ghost (51 Merc) and away we go...
Ghost in the mirror..
I'd say about 125 vehicles, good typical show variety, a few Vw's.. ONE Volksrod.. = Perfect..
Rain.. came in. those that were polishing were freaking out..
Covers flying and tents a poppin' ..... we walked around after eating and hit the road home.
I'z don't needz noz stinking wipers..
Tucking the Ghost away for now...
Note... ZERO REAR CAMBER>> and Operation X is riding high..

We've... hold that.. I've been doing some home renovations and repairs and it has taken up a serious majority of my time this year..
I have to go to work.. to rest ...
Sadly.. no news.. for Operation X....
Spiders have once again attached it to the floor.. and a oil slick has formed from the oil drain back.. and engine seeps..
I've been in a VW.. slump.. in all honesty.. loosing some passion for the tin cans.. but have still been driving them..
I currently have .. 5 Vw's.. 3 road ready.. 2 awaiting their turn..
Its overwhelming what I've stashed away..
Current plans.. sell off some of the fleet (2).. but the real decision is which of the two last ones to keep.. a 62 Ragtop or a 61 Convertible..
Most likely..the Ragtop will go..
No rush .. nothing is eating me to sell quick.. .. but they sure take up the space.. which is my main problem.. the lack of..
In addition.. I bought a BIG truck.. 1977 Chevy HV70... with a Screamin' Detroit Diesel 6V53 Two stroke.. so in what spare time I've had.... has been on ..and all over it..
Old Detroits are what I cut my teeth on..... so instead of a red sports car... as a mid life crisis.... the gear head, old semi truck loving, gear jammer in me.. buys that..
Wife says Im nuts.. .. yep and????
No crisis.. just cant pass up a good deal.. Buy it when you find it.. cause ya may not have another shot at it..
Operation X will stay..it's all me.. top to bottom.. and I'll get it back out .. in time...
Thanks for the check in.. and bump..

Well.. in the shadows ... .. while you've picked up the VW mojo... ... I think... can see the light at the end of the tunnel on our.. my hands on year long kitchen remodel... wait... that's no light... it s steam train headed straight for me... Like living in a live demolition and construction zone..
Plus.. too cold to drive the man made hacked up wind tunnel...
Op X isnt going anywhere... cant really ever sell it if I wanted to..
Life sometimes takes priority too... Last year was a whirlwind.. and NOT any time at all for any sit snoozer car shows and hobby fun in general..
Trying to get it done .. well... together.. .. sigh.... so I can move towards the sale of at least 2 of my VW's..
I've made the decision I will keep one (really 3) .... but only "do" ONE more VW.. my 61 Convertible.
Sad to let two other solid cars go... but... just want to move forward rather than being bogged down with car projects and a fleet of tin cans..
Im a little burnt out on VWs again at the moment..
Plan to try to hit the Spring Farm show... with a trailer load of VW parts..
So sit out?? .. ha.. never... but man... I need a break...
Just hope its not my arm... or neck..
Thanks for checking in..

I hear ya brother. We cleaned house a few times thru the years. The spring farm sometimes sets things straight whether it's a move away or a move closer to the endless VW $ pit.
The Vaughn's are Still watching. |
