As has been mentioned above, I would highly recommend buying a quality marine grade USB plug, such as blue sea systems, rather than a cheap knockoff. You spend a tiny bit of extra money, but that sucker is gonna work years from now when you need it, and not crap out on you for no apparent reason.
As someone who has gone through a lot of trial and error on various electrical projects, I have learned the hard way that it's always better to pay for quality wire, connectors, and place like this.
