This might have an obvious answer, but Ive often wondered why people dont fit a Type 3 engine when chopping a bug into a bug truck.....it would certainly give you more load room.
I like the idea of building one of these....does anyone have any ideas why you couldnt use a pancake Type 3?
Thanks in advance!

most of the people who built these are not vw people and don't know about type 3's
also it takes alittle more fab work to put a type 3 motor in _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough

Diggin' this thread. I've always had a soft spot for bug trucks, as I have owned two Domus kits in the past. If I can get some pics scanned, I will add them to this thread.
There is a bug truck around here that was built at a dealer in Washington after it was damaged in transit. The bug was new, and the workmanship is excellent. I will try to get with the owner for the whole story and some pics. _________________ nothing |

I really like the metal work on the rear cab area on this one. I have never seen it done that way before. Very cool.

Totally agree mate!
Its really well done. From memory, I think the rear window opening was formed using the two rear side window openings from the donor vehicle.
I also love it how they have continued the gutter above the door and dropped it down at the back.
Some real thought has gone into this one! I'll see if I can find some better photos.
