You should talk to MaHk Rafferty. He's ventured across from Florida several times. Give him a gingle. He is aware of this event.

Of course it does Mate! That would be AWESOME if you guys made the voyage out to the "Colonies" in your Buses!!!!

Like I said, we haven't had a serious British Invasion in some time. This is also open to anyone who would like to participate. I know most of you British Barndoor owners and you guys know I will welcome you with open arms, But you have to buy me a pint, not Corona because we don't drink that piss! It's for the tourists. REALLY! Wink

This year gap gives everyone enough time to either plan their holiday or get their Barndoor project ready for the event.

..now THAT's food for thought! Very Happy Cool

hmm. That gives me one year to get something ready. Of course if I make it I will be driving a stock 36hp from the bay area. No trailer for me. This would be a great adventure for my very first OCTO! Anyone else driving (slow) from the north? Andre? Greg and Clara?

I'm getting more and more excited about this Barndoor gathering at next years OCTO. It will be a blast and I'm sure we can reach the 40 plus Barndoor mark no problem. My 53 will definitely have some major improvements by then.

Sounds like you are on a mission and I agree with you ....... 40 plus will be no problem. Especially now knowing our NorCal buddies will be making the voyage down.

Awesome George! I remember your bus from many years ago and conteplated buying it. Though I would have never thought it would be on the road, like most of them. I'm glad you got it and made it road worthy. It will blend in perfectly with all the others at the gathering.

Cool Gerson! This is a great idea and an awesome adventure. Hopefully MaHk can make out this year?? (Matisse misses him Wink ) Even if folks were to trailer them out would be cool. Remember, it's about getting as many Barndoor's as we can at this gathering.

That will be an adventure for you my friend. Both the voyage out this way and getting your bus road worthy. Or you can always trailer it out this way? As far as awards go ............ TWO will be handed out. 1 for oldest Barndoor and 2 for longest distance "DRIVEN" Barndoor. We are also considering who brings out the most Barndoors. Single owner.

Pints!! I'm all for that!

The nearest port here in Los Angeles is either San Pedro or Long Beach. As far as shipping it out here, you should contact Linda (Brenden), he knows this sort of stuff. I agree with you, this will make a great family holiday. There are TONS of things to do and see out this way, aside from VW's. Cheers Wink

Rick - a lot of the NorCal folks have 36/25 hp engines, so no worries. You need to show up in your bus! In time people will chime in from all over. Lots of folks will be coming from up north so you can sort out your journey with them. Andre is coming and I'm pretty sure Clara will too!? And now confirmed, the infamous Dean Anderson will be coming down.

If you got a NorCal caravan going .......... it shouldn't be a problem rolling down with them in your bus. Or trailer it down to So Cali, then roll it around. I'm sure lots of folks will be doing this.

There's always safety and support in numbers. I would like to see the bay area, canada, nor cal and the idaho peaople all combine a caravan. We can show the BDM what a hit really is.
