here are some pics of the windshield in my Burro. square frame with glass "glued" to front of frame.

I was told that all modern cars have glued in windshields, this is now the industry standard mounting method.

Right on the money superpro56.
I spent some time chatting with John and John John at Acme this morning. You will notice that the part number for the tubular chassis windshield rubber includes BP6049 to let people know it is the same as the Bug Pack part. In fact the rubber molding is made by the same supplier that formerly made it for Bug Pack, using the same dies, so the product is identical in every respect.
Acme and an unidentified partner now own the dies and the rights to the molding, keep a minimum of 20 on the shelf.

And my problem with "store pickup only" seems to be a software issue that they are working to resolve.

Berrien was sold a few years back to Acme, follow this link to the windshield rubber for tubular chassis:

The berrien link didn't work but I did finally find the rubber on their site.
Could someone that is familiar with them tell me why the part is only available for store pickup when I try to order? An 8 hr drive each way seems a bit excessive for a small roll of rubber!

With the Bug Pack 6049 gasket no longer available has anyone found an alternative other than a flange welded inside the tube?

I ended up not using aluminum in order to save a few bucks. I used galvanized rigid conduit and bent it using a conduit bender. I used 1/8" x 1/2" flat bar and cold bent it using a larger diameter pipe as a die. Then fit everything together, welded and painted flat black. I had the glass cut and installed using a standard rubber gasket used for this purpose.
For welding reasons, galvanized was not a good choice. But it was cheap. Hope this all makes sense! lol

What we did was take 3/4 x3/4 aluminum angle and screwed it in place. For the upper bends or radius we put multiple relief cuts in until it fit nicely in only one surface of the angle not both sides. I'd guess you should be able to get it done under an hour. Worked great, I'll do it this way again next time also!

Did you do the bends for the aluminum pipe and flat bar yourself? Did you have someone weld it up? It looks like a nice clean job. I already have 4 Dzus fasteners welded along my opening that I could fasten the windshield frame to.

Check out my gallery for pics of my sandrail with a safety glass windshield. I built a seperate frame for the glass and attached to my rail using billet aluminum clamps.
I have a drawing of my frame in the gallery also.

i used 1/4 inch angle steel and welded in a frame to the inside of the tubing all the way around and then took it to a glass shop , and they cut and glued in the glass and used a narrow weatherstrip on the outside around the edge of the glass.

There is no "frame"
The rubber fits inside the roll bar, you can glue or screw in place.
The windshield glass goes in a groove in the rubber just like a standard windshield frame.

but how do u guys attach the windshield frame to the tubular frame of the sand rail because i dont believe u can weld cuz the windshield frame is aluminum and the rail is steel.
