This is a project that my Son and I have been working on for the past year.

The front has +4 arms, 10" 2.0 Race Runner shocks and 33/10.50R15 BFG's mounted on 5" steel spoke wheels.

The rear has custom trailing arms, 14" 2.5 Race Runner Coil overs, 16" 2.5 three tube bypasses and 33/10.50R15 BFG's on 8" steel spokes.

Here is a pict with body off.

Wow Just spent an hour reading most of these posts and my head is spining...I'm running a stock 1970 with a 1600 in my Baja, , stock IRS, 4" body lift, stock BJ front end - will install Thing Spindles and Thing Lower arms one day soon, not sure if rear has been indexd or not and I have the torsion that sticks out 5-6" in the rear. I want to buy either Centerlines or Aluminum wheels one day soon....It's going to be a daily driver 30 miles a day but I still want an aggressive pattern for the winter snow...any sugesstions on wheel and tires sizes would be greatly appreciated.

The wheels are just a white 8 spoke steel wheel that I painted black. They have a reverse offset too.

I just picked up a set of BFG A/T 31 10.50 x15 's used. Are they going to fit under my rail with a stock IRS long tube suspension? It looks like they will JUST make it. I'm starting to question my sanity on this purchase. Thanks, Bob

That's the size I'm running on the rear of mine with the long tube IRS. No problems with the fit.

wheels 0 offset 15x7" with 235/75 tires rear;15x5" front with 215/75 tires
suspension stock with rear air shocks at 35 psi

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

The rear tires are goodyear wranglers and the front firestone destination AT. The reason for the tires choice is the front are more square with 5 rib tread and as such grip well and keeps the front planted. the rear are more rounded and do not have the grooves running through the tread. That allows for easier rear sliding and easier on the tranny. The rear drifts very predictably with is confidence inspiring. The ride is good with 30 psi front and 35 psi rear. traction is good on hard pack gravel and rock. No sand here and not any bottomless mud. The front tires rub on full lock. When turning at speed with suspension moving the tire rubs on the head light bucket.

Here is our 65, 2 1/2" spindles, 1 1/2" wider, steel wheels in the front, Centerlines in the back. Front shocks are Rancho 9200 with reservoirs, "soon to be changed" back has 4 Bilstein 5100's. Car works really well with the 1967cc stroker.

Here are some new whels I put on my Baja. All Terrain TA's 30x9.5 r 15 on 8x15 steel 8 spokes. I don't know what the backspacing is, but it can't be much. Maybe 1-2".

Here's my "work in progress", '59 with stock suspension, Jackman-style 15"x6" (3.5" backspacing) and 215/75r15 Firestone Destination A/T all the way around.

My goal is to someday turn it back into a "full fender" car, but for now it will just be a daily driver. I wanted to keep it well-mannered on the street but allow for the occasional trip down the fire-road.
