Greetings. I put on my new fan on my new alternator. When I spin it, it looks like a wobbling plate. How much tolerance does this have to have? Is there a way to align it? Thanks

OE or aftermarket fan?

It should not wobble.

Send it back.
CIP sells cheap stuff and it's obviously a poor quality.

It might be welded but I doubt it's balanced if it wobbles. You would try to balance a tire on a bent rim would you? Likewise if they had run that on a balancer they would have seen it was junk. You can't take something that is prone to gyroscopic forces (like a bent rim or fan) and balance it.....not properly anyway.

why?? it's a crap empi fan and it is not balanced after welding. for only 20 bucks more, you could have bought a gene berg welded and balanced fan made from a genuine vw fan, tig welded, and balanced again after welding. was it really worth saving a measly 20 bucks??
